Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaI think that the hotel has slowly declined in its quality. Rooms are getting a little long in the tooth. Our shower barely put out enough water to get under it. The quality of the staff varied from excellent to "obligatory". The restaurant is very handy but I had the same thing both mornings for breakfast. The bill for #1 was over $30. The same thing for #2 was $21. I knew that the first one was wrong but let it go. My wife commented on it when checking out and the next day I discovered a refund of $13 on our credit card.
We have stayed at the Carpinteria Best Western occasionally since it opened 20 or more years ago. We actually use it as the place to stay as a convenient location to stay while doing things in Santa Barbara. Not everyone would consider it that convenient but it is 20 minutes away and far from the congestion of SB.

United States of AmericaThe water pressure in the shower is weak. The pool is very small and unimpressive. The jacuzzi is in a different part of the hotel.
Very pretty hotel. Good location, in walking distance to main street. The staff was great and accommodating. Nice restaurant and bar on top floor. The room was clean. We had a good view of the pretty courtyard.

United States of AmericaThe courtyard below our window carried sound very easily. There were three men sitting below our window drinking beer for about size hours til almost midnight. They were very loud and kept our whole family awake. I finally had to go speak to them but they were slow to quiet down or leave.
Very nice property, well cared for

United States of AmericaThe only thing we didn't like was that the numbering system was very confusing and didn't make sense as to the location of our room. We had to ask as it didn't match up. The other thing was the room door didn't close tightly, so you could see the light from the hall and hear a lot more in the hallway.
The room was clean and nice, really nice restaurant area with good breakfasts, and the staff was very nice. Bonus the room was ready early which is always nice after a long day on the road.

United States of AmericaSadly, one of the elevators was not working. The refrigerator in our room was not fully functional. These are not deal killers for us.
Our room and the entire facility were clean. It’s a nice property with a courtyard and a workout room. Also, there was plenty of parking.

United States of AmericaMy husband had a difficult time resting at night because of the noise from the freeway and railroad track plus the sound of people in the rooms above and beside ours.
The breakfast and dinner were good. The inn itself is beautiful, especially the courtyard.

United States of AmericaI imagine if I was in a room facing the outside that the freeway noise might be a bit much.
The courtyard in the middle of the complex was nice. Our room was on the 2nd floor just outside the fountain, so I cracked the window to listen to the babbling fountain during the night. The location is very close to a steakhouse, which was excellent.
