Great place for a quiet stay in a state park, with clean rooms and a balcony to enjoy nature.

Maybe clearer signs- I booked online, and wasn't sure of the exact name of the lodge, so we drove around a bit and had to ask at the visitors center before we found it.

This is a super awesome place to stay at a really good price! It was 6 miles into the state forest, with winding roads, so a bit off the beaten path, but it was very clean, and quiet, and so relaxing to stay at a state park. All the rooms have a balcony so you can sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. And I love the hardwood floors- they are much cleaner than carpets, and don't trigger my allergies like carpets do. I wish we could have stayed more than one night- we didn't have much time for hiking and other activities. I did go on a horseback ride, which was great also. This is the kind of place you book for your whole vacation, rather than just passing through. It would be perfect for a nice quiet retreat in nature.

I don’t have a single bad thing to say about this place.

I traveled here to participate in a half marathon on the trail system within the park, but was amazed at all of the other recreational opportunities available! I can’t say enough good things about my entire weekend here. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, the facilities were clean and well cared for, and that area of Kentucky really is a gem. I am already planning a return visit, one night just wasn’t enough.

The rooms are old and need upkeep. The food in the dining room should be improved.

The room was more rustic than the price we paid. Certainly acceptable. We had dinner there and it was adequate but not more than that. We enjoy camping in the park, so we will be back but not to stay in the lodge. LP

Our cottage could have been cleaner and there was a lingering musty smell that was possible from a dog.

Carter Caves is an wonderful getaway with lots of great hiking trails and caves. It offered fun activities and sits in a good location.

I used to play the golf course. I hated to see it out of use. I understand things change but it was a nice little perk to Carter Cave.

This place is fun, relaxing and interesting. The cottage was all we needed. Tge caves are wonderful and the staff was fabulous. Thank you.

We were a bit put-off by the smell in the bathroom. It smelled like septic issues.

Our overall stay was wonderful! The staff at the resort were very pleasant. We also enjoyef the on-site restaurant. Great prices and tasty food. The trails led to beautiful works of art created by Mother Nature.

Bathroom was a little grimy. I don't doubt it was wiped clean recently but it needs a real deep clean for mildew and mold .

Staff was nice and had area info , menus and could give directions easily. Balcony was large and over looked the woods . Location was great , hikes right behind the lodge were fantastic, pool was great.

The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. We had an issue with our cottage. It was extemely smokey and I have asthma and cannot tolerate smoke Jameson and her Supervisor Cassandra were so kind and understanding. They worked hard to accommodate us & relocate us to another cottage that was not smokey. All of the staff were so kind and helpful! We would definitely stay there again.
