Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

A microwave would be nice, but certainly not a deal breaker. The coffee cups, in the rooms, are glass. The coffee gets cold very fast. Would prefer cups like they have in the Lobby
They don't serve Breakfast. The location is great. Every thing on the main "Strip", is within walking distance.

The walls are pretty thin and the pillows need replaced.
Perfect location in the middle of the action on Main Street and within walking distance to the majority of things!

It has changed a lot! Lot less machines and not a full bar! Drinks were free when gambling!

They are under some renovations, so they warn you from some noises. But it was pretty OK for me
Really special place. Everything is very good. Room was comfortable and spacious. Bathroom was great. Clean and very central to the main street. They try to help you out with everything.

Parking is a little tight if you have a dually pickup
It reminds me of my grandmas house. It was built in the 1890s and the furniture I love. I was lucky to inherit some.

Bed was a little uncomfortable. However we were told that they were replacing the beds so our could be that was coming up to be replaced soon.
The room was great. The staff was so friendly and helpful with everything. Great prices for the downtown location. Our new favorite Deadwood location!

The cleanliness of the facility and friendliness of the staff. Knowing that we had arrived far earlier than the required check-in time of 4 pm, the receptionist was very friendly & we understood that we needed to wait much closer to 4 to be able to get into our room. However, shortly before 330, we were actually able to check in as she had indicated that she would call us!!

I love the old character of the building as Deadwood seems to be modernizing to many places. Rooms comfortable. We had an issue with a missing item but the manager was very good at listening to us and resolving it. Check in was easy and desk clerks were very nice.

All of the staff was very friendly except one woman who works there who happened to be the one that checked us in. We were traveling with another couple that stayed at a different hotel but were there with us when we checked in. She berraided us with questions about what the other couple was doing there and treated us like criminals. All four of us were in our 40s and 50s and have never been treated so rude when checking into a hotel or resort. After we checked in she had somebody else come to our room to make sure that they were not staying in the room with us. Also every time they came to our hotel to meet up with us she treated them rudely I also heard her yelling at other people about how they were parking their car. I would like to reiterate that the hotel was great and everybody else working there was wonderful but this woman should not be in customer service!
This is one of the most luxurious and unique properties I have stayed at in downtown Deadwood. My wife and I travel to Deadwood several times a year and this hotel is quite the gem!

The bed is a little stiff for my hips.
This place is a gem. Truly lovey old antique furniture, beautifully done and nothing like a cookie cutter room. We wanted a special night out and we experienced it.

Nothing. The room was just fine.
We stayed in Deadwood on a Sunday night and it was very quiet. The Celebrity Hotel is located in the heart of Deadwood and a easy walk / stroll around the downtown area. The room cost was reasonable since it was a Sunday. The room was furnished nicely and it was just fine.
