The rooftop lounge was under construction so we had to go elsewhere to enjoy a drink with a view. The pool was covered, not open air.

We loved the location because we could walk everywhere. Staff could not have been nicer. The lobby was beautiful with multiple seating areas to relax and enjoy a book, drink, or the lovely piano music. The spa and pool area looked wonderful, although we didn’t use it (not enough time on a short trip).

We had a wonderful in room dining- for breakfast - pancakes and omelet were delicious! Came timely and fresh and hot!

The noise level, we were put in an adjoining room and is sounded like the people were in our room with a regular speaking level. And in the morning we were placed on one of rooms facing the valet courtyard. They had a Gardner there at 8am cleaning the valet circle with a gas blower for a full hour. Electric maybe or a better time of day. Great stay otherwise.

Coffee maker in the bedroom was that fancy Espresso. Not my type of coffee.

Ate lunch at the Thoroughbreds Club. I highly recommend the Lobster mac and cheese and their spicy white russian. Sooo good.

From the second we arrived, we were personally greeted, escorted to check in, and provided exceptional treatment throughout. The room was very nice, and the robe, slippers, and umbrella were nice touches. The easy access to the pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room (men's), and fitness center were particularly nice. Our massage with the team at the spa was exceptional - book early! The Christmas decorations and general activity in the lobby were fun and energizing.

The staff was extraordinary from the time we arrived until we were dropped at the airport, room service was great, snowmaking event around the Christmas tree a treat. True Charleston hospitality at its finest.

The fact that we booked a room with a king bed (2 months in advance) and then when we checked in, we were told that there were no more king beds available at our rate. That gives me pause for using booking.com in the future.

Location, Christmas decorations, restaurant, pool. Room was lovely and included Nespresso machine, robe, slippers and L’Occitane bath products.

(1) large tiled shower has no grab bars and no bath mat meaning floor very slippery. Dangerous for older people. (2) toilet too low for taller people and no grab bars either. (3) restaurant food quality on the whole ranges from good to marginal and overpriced.

The free Wifi was of low bandwidth making it hard to do business calls etc. One has to buy wifi with better bandwidth and that was a bit disappointing after paying so much for a room.

Arrived after 1am (situation on flight) and we were exhausted. I had requested two double beds and a cot months prior. The request said it would be fulfilled. After checking in, our key cards didn’t work. I had to go back down to the front desk. Once that was solved, I got back to the room only to find one bed. Now had to call the front desk, as three of us couldn’t and wouldn’t fit in one bed. Front desk takes us to the next room. This one has two but not three. They did bring us a cot that night. It was just frustrating and exhausting. They did not offer anything for the inconvenience. For a hotel of this caliber, I’d expect more.

Only grabbed coffee and pastries at the coffee shop but they were good.

Conveniently located in the heart of the Historic district with easy access to sights, shopping and various restaurants. The lobby was beautifully decorated with a display between the two spiral staircases and the sitting courtyard with a wine hour was well received by us!
