Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

UkraineThere're some difficulties with check in, as I came a bit earlier then mentioned (though it was after 3pm) and the door code wasn't working. I had to call the support service to send me another code. So, please note that if you come earlier then expected, it may happen
Good pleasant location (walking area, close to the Common Park and metro station), clean room, all the kitchenware needed for long stay: fridge, stove, microwave oven, coffee maker and kitchen utensils.

United States of AmericaThe rate for a Saturday was definitively a bit too high for me.
Very comfortable and comfortable for short stays for sure I can say, despite it's location on Beacon Hill, that the price for Saturdays was a bit steep. Aside from that everything was perfect for travelers or locals alike.who are staying for a week or less. Thank you for our stay.

United States of AmericaBeing on the 4th floor, the stairs were steep and narrow. Definitely tough with luggage. Bed could have been more comfy (memory foam upgrade perhaps?) for the price - tough on my back. Also, a second chair to eat at would make sense given it is a 2 person room.
Room was as advertised. Small but clean and adequate. Bathroom and shower were clean. Liked the privacy and security features. Nice sized fridge and kitchen. Very convenient location!

United States of AmericaThe unit itself was on the fourth floor and the stairs were a little steep getting up there, especially with luggage. There’s just a few little renovations that the apartment needs but overall the location itself was amazing.
The location was amazing. Close to everything walking distance to everything. Such a beautiful site you’re gonna love this location. Private kitchenette and bathroom with its own air conditioning unit.

CanadaThe only suggestion I would offer would be to add a little shelf or over the shower caddy to the shower stall so toilletry items don't have to be on the floor I would also be sure to advise clients to type in the address postal code when putting into GPS as we learned there is another 40 Temple street about 10 minutes away from the actually property (located in a not so great area).
This place is wonderful. I couldn't have asked for a better location. I was a 15 min walk to the TD Garden in one direction and à 10 min walk to Boston Common in the other direction. We parked at the Charles River Plaza parking garage which is a 5 min walk from the accommodations. The bed was very comfortable and the space was clean with everything needed for our comfort. The check in process was easy. I received an email the day before our trip with the door codes. The customer service was very good as well. Someone answered phone calls very quickly and helpfully. I highly recommend it!

ItalyThe room is hardly reachable if You have big and heavy suitcases. The cleaning is overall good but I found the trash of the previous guest.
Let's start to say that the price is very competitive: it is very expensive but, compared to Boston standards, cheaper. The downside of the cheaper price is the fact that my room was at the third floor without elevator and with very narrow stairs. Bring a big and heavy suitcase up and down was a very tricky and sweaty job. The room itself is OK: it is very essential but there is everything you may need, including a little kitchen. The location is excellent: in 2 minutes walking you can reach Boston Common and Park Street station.

JapanI stayed at 4F. I had to bring my 25 kg baggage up and down there. That was tough. For there was no elevators.
Excellently clean and comfortable room like a great house. I could not figure out how it was so great inside from the outlook of it is old color. Plates and all the kitchen utensils, coffees, bath amenities except for teeth brush are there. You can feel beacon hill which is traditional sightseeing spot by staying here!

United States of AmericaI had a big luggage and had to drag it all the way up to the 4th floor (or attic) on narrow staircase. There was a hidden cost that only got revealed later (i.e., cleaning of the facility which is kind of pricey....a reasonable one hour charge of cleaning would be more acceptable). There were too many steps to checking-in. A deposit should have been sufficient with a streamlined process.
It's central location and cleanliness are hard to ignore. Staff was quick to respond when there's a question or concern.

United KingdomOK for me, but some might struggle with steep narrow staircases. Studio is on 4th floor. Also fridge is quite noisy and woke me up at night.
Excellent location in a quiet side street in Beacon Hill, just a short walk from the city centre and Boston Common. Decent walk-in shower and well equipped kitchenette. Laundry room in basement for additional fee, could be useful if staying longer. Several convenience stores and restaurants 1-2 blocks away.
