Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaI would have preferred a larger (longer) wall mirror since I was attending a work conference and it would have helped while getting dressed. I had to manage the best I could.
Overall, very clean and pleasant stay. Had a cute European hostel vibe to it. The shower and toilet were shared. I was surprised at how quiet it was, even though the property was fully booked. Everyone was polite and respectful. I enjoyed talking to Alicia and Igor- very kind staff. Would definitely stay here again.

United States of AmericaOnly took off a star because our room was too warm. Really warm and no separate climate control.
Location was fantastic! MSG right around the corner and of course the train station is right there too. First time sharing a bathroom at a hotel but there were plenty and the cost savings was worth it. I will say a larger person might find the toilet room very tight. Showers were roomy. Beds were comfy, whole place was very clean and quiet. Owner and staff were friendly. Great for one night.

United KingdomSpace is tight. Room only slightly larger than bed. Might be difficult for two people to accommodate.
Better than expected for the price. Great location near Penn Station. Had a quiet room at the back. Comfy bed. Clean room and communal areas. Friendly and helpful staff. Free coffee. Good WiFi. Lots of power sockets in room.

United States of AmericaThere were only two things I didn't like: a) the stairs up, as in many places in Manhattan, were very steep. They were fine for me, but if I were older they would be a problem. There isn't an elevator. And my room was on the street side of the building. That meant that all night long I had the sounds of a Manhattan street, including the police cars and traffic at 2 or 3am. But that's part of the charm of NYC, so if that bothers you, don't go to NYC.
This property is EXACTLY what a budget traveler needs it to be - a VERY good bed in a clean room. No more. No less. The property is very clean. The bathrooms and shower (shared) were SMALL but clean and acceptable. The staff was great. And of course, its hard to beat the location for that price. But if you are expecting anything extra, you'll be disappointed. For the budget traveler, it was great. I'd gladly stay there again.

IndiaA mini hot water kettle in the room and a water filter in the common area for easy 24/7 access would have been perfect.
I will book this property again if I return to NYC as solo traveler. All the properties around this location are insanely expensive. In comparison this property was reasonably priced and it provided a quiet private room with easy access to clean WC and shower. Location is convenient for a tourist/ traveler in NY as it’s very close to Penn station and Financial district. The rooms are small but compact with good storage planning. Plus - had a mini refrigerator a mini sink inside the room. There was a safe as well, though I didn’t use that. The owner, Cris is warm, hospitable and has great sense of humour.

GermanyThe place is perfect to get to all the important places. Its just around the corner from Madison Square Garden, which is perfect for a Rangers Game, the Pennstation is close, Empire State is nearby etc. The host is very nice and you can talk to him easily. He has a cute german sheperd and you can ask him for help. Breakfast offers everything you need to start the day, although you have to prepare it more or less on your lap. The rooms are really small, but thats normal for NYC and you have everything you need there. But just the location of that Hotel (which seems a bit like a Hostel) is unbeatable.

United States of AmericaGuests should be prepared for the long steep stairs at the entrance. Breakfast was generous but there wasn't enough room for most of us to sit down - perhaps we should have carried trays to our rooms?
The room was clean and comfortable, and the window kept out much of the street noise.

United States of AmericaRoom ran a little warm when it was cold outside (it's a radiator building.) Bathrooms are shared (not a surprise, but important to know) and the toilets are in very cramped spaces (tricky if you're above say 5'7"/170cm). Shower rooms are spacious and easy to use though.
It's a mostly bare bones operation, but it's clean, comfortable and secure. Perfect for someone who doesn't need a lot of bells and whistles. Great location if you need to catch an early train, or a place to stay after an event at Madison Square Garden.
