Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The SHOWERS, The water pressure was bad and the shower head was falling apart The closet door wasn’t hooked on good and it fell ( not on me thank god)

We had issues with the shower, unfortunately when we checked in the shower head wasn’t working.
The room was spacious for the price and a king size bed. Clean and quiet

Owners could invest in upgrading. Otherwise hotel was fine.
Beds comfortable; clean room. Cable/streaming out but they let us know in advance and gave option to cancel. Good location. Hotel. Needs some updating.

Location was as easy of a walk to the convention center as I thought it would have been. otherwise it was a good place to lay your head

Wi-fi was not working overall throughout the property - hence TV systems also were not available; very rough toilet paper!; air conditioning was not working, had to open a window as best we could to get ventilation (clerk did offer to move to a different room, but we made due), no on-site restaurant (closed), that would have been very nice to be able to dine there, on-site (maybe next time?) .. While facility was overall clean.. I noticed that the trash recepticles in the lobby and floor elevator lobby areas were full to the brim.. as though housekeeping had not yet been by.. just an appearance thing...

The bathroom smelled like sewage, and there was visible water damage in various locations of the room. Additionally, the corners of all the rooms and halls were visibly dirty. Elevator malfunctioned twice while there — it worked, but the door kept opening on the same floor after you got in a it shut.
Greek parking on site, first come first serve availability upon check-in. Additionally, the woman who checked me in was very kind.

The vending was limited and sold out, and I got in late enough not too much was open in the area but there was a convenience store which was within driving distance and since there was free parking it wasn't that big of a deal.
Free parking is a huge value in Chicago, I didn't get a chance to use it but there was a workout room that looked more than adequate. The room was quite spacious and the bathtub was huge which was very nice to relax in.

A lot of things need maintenance in this hotel. Practically everything is half broken or closed.
It is a good location between downtown and IIT. The staff were friendly and it was clean and comfortable.

I would have liked vending machines and also would have liked for the elevator by our room to be working
The room was large, with a little seating area; the hotel was quiet (aside from the train, which didn't bother us); we loved that it was close to Chinatown and also loved that there was free parking!

Things that I would work on would be the after hours lock on the main door should be repaired and the cable TV did not work.
The Staff was very attentive and the facilities were clean.

No extra amenities; no pool, breakfast, restaurant, etc. Hotel is old and a bit run down, but not to the point of being dirty or uncomfortable.
Staff was very friendly. We were able to check in early and get our day started. Room was large and roomy. Location was close to our son's campus. Free parking!

The cable was out our entire stay so no TV for 2 days. The bathroom started to have a smell our last night.
