Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

- Water in tap/shower smells really bad (rotten smell). Should be fixed. Gross. - Building is not well soundproofed meaning way too much street noise. This is a new building - must be very cheaply done. - Taking stairs instead of elevators makes you feel unappreciated. Raw concrete. Bad signs. No exit to reception/breakfast floor. All in all the main offering, which for any hotel should be: "a good nights sleep" has not at all been a priority when making this new hotel. That is a big mistake.
Really nice in many ways - but with some significant and very specific downsides that would make me not stay there again. Super nice bar. Good breakfast (although a bit limited in dairyfree options).

The room was a cubicle. Very minuscule. They do not have housecleaning. To watch the TV in your room you have to sit on the bed, but they don't make the bed. There is no parking, valet or self service, so you have to find a parking garage or on street parking that ends at 8 AM. You are paying the price of a four star hotel but getting the service of a two star hotel.

The only hiccup if you can call it that was the check in process. It took a bit and they had some system issues. But they worked diligently to resolve it and comped my late checkout as a courtesy.
I like the rooms! Cute pod like rooms that reminded me of a cruise ship. Honestly perfect for my solo weekend. Two would be doable though. I loved the location and tons of spots were walkable. I would recommend an Uber if you are going across the bridge to the fancy shops on south congress.

In the morning we'd feel the smell of food in our room, even though we were on the 16th floor and breakfast was served on the 2nd. Wasn't an issue, just a bit weird.
We liked everything, the room was just awesome, clean and modern, with a homey feel. When checking in we had the choice to stay on a higher floor and pick the view as well. By far one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in.

The rooms we had were super small. it felt like you are in Japan in those super tiny cubes. I was wondering even how they can change the sheets, as there was no space to pass across the bed.
I loved the location. It was in the heart of downtown Austin. You could easily walk to capitol, 12th street, main street, and a lot of restaurants and cafes and stores surrounding you.
