To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaMy only issue is the location - the immediate neighborhood is very unappealing and I would not be comfortable walking that section of Spring Street at night. I noticed they had a staff member outside in the evening but not enough to feel confident walking down the street.
Its a great affordable business hotel that provided me with all that I needed for a 5-day stay. Good daily breakfast and very friendly staff.

GermanyGreat, as always - clean, with an upbeat vibe throughout the whole hotel. CitizenM hotels haven’t disappointed so far. The bar is open till 2am and also serves some snacks throughout the working hours like pizza and nachos. There is no onsite parking, but to parking lots are available across the street - overnight parking was around $35.

The lobby is stunning when you first walk in! Loved the art and decor in the lounge area. We loved the way we were welcomed and assisted with the checkin process. Our request for early checkin was easily accommodated. Our room was efficiently laid out, cozy and comfortable. Loved the ease of the iPad to control the lighting, blinds and entertainment. The hotel ambassadors were so friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay! The breakfast buffet was delicious, fresh and thoughtfully prepared and presented. Would definitely stay at citizenM again in L.A. and will look for it in other cities when planning our future trips.

Room was tight for two people, but we made it work - well-designed space. Breakfast was very good and a good value. We had stayed in the New York City Citizen M and so knew what to expect. Staff was super courteous and professional all around. Gym on 9th floor was really nice with a breathtaking patio and lobby and eating area are very inviting.

New ZealandLocation didn’t have a whole lot around it - but the metro was located close by and really easy to use. The amazing staff were happy to help out with how to use it as well.
Everything was amazing! The bar, lobby and rooms were perfect - clean, tidy and very modern. The staff were super friendly especially the young male security. The bed was massive and really comfortable. We loved the iPad with the room controlling everything. The place has everything you need for an individual or couple staying for a holiday (or work) that are spending most of their time exploring. They had maximised the small space and included everything you need. Very good coffee too from the bar downstairs! We would 100% stay again and recommend to our friends.
