Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty

- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The bathrooms need upgrading but serviceable. No safe or fridge in rooms. Valuables can be locked in main safe downstairs if need be.
Good sized room, comfortable bed, proper closet for clothes really nice team of staff on reception, enthusiastic and knowledgeable

Small room and no cabinet to accommodate the bags.
Location is the best in Chicago. If you are going to the city for visiting, this is the best location. Just in the heart of Chicago loop, in front of the Chicago River, easy walking to the millennium park, magnificent mile, skydeck, river walk, cloud gate, Chicago art institute, grant park and others. It is a historic building, with a beautiful lobby. My room was small, but was clean and cozy and a coffee machine was available. Coffee, milk, sugar supplied free by the hotel . Nice team providing support and service.

Very bad internet connection. At the beginning room smelled on cooking but I fix the problem using the fun on the maximum level for an hour.
Nice location, clean and comfortable room. Pleasant stuff always to help out. I was able to extend my checkout for an hour for free.

The size of the shower is too small. The carpet or the A/C need maintenance as I had allergies every single time I stepped into the room.
Perfect location, right in front of Trump's Tower and very well located to walk anywhere in The Loop.

one small window without much of a view and no mini fridge
I loved the location, and that I wasn't charged extra for my pet. I've been to Chicago countless times and never knew the riverfront walk existed.

My room was not serviced once, I requested additional blankets and they went placed them in and did not clean my room. I was ordering out at night time for my kids and building up the garbage because no one went in to clean and take the trash out and I did not have the privacy sign out. This was very frustrating for me. I left everyone early morning and came back late afternoon to a undone room with garbage. My family and i suffered from allergies and this room gave us all types of it because the carpet was not clean, and we know why now. They do not service the rooms during stay but after the guests leave.
Location was awesome, everything was walking distance. A lot of restaurants around the area and all tourists attractions.

Be aware that there can be a long wait for the lift if on one of the higher floors. Noise from what was presumably the ventilation system could be quite loud which may be an issue if you are noise sensitive.
Location was excellent, right on the river, close to Michigan Avenue. Very clean, bed was extremely comfortable.

Was on the second floor facing Wacker and one night there was a long, loud gathering across the street late at night for a couple hours, including someone driving a hot rod loudly around 1-2am- so ask for a room up high or facing the back of the building.
Front desk staff is excellent, hotel is clean and I loved having 24/7 access to custom coffee

Next time when I hear the word that I am upgraded I will know that I should be cautious. That means either the room booked by Booking.com was very bad, or I was downgraded to a room at the back of the hotel, dingy and room service is only available if you request.

Would have preferred option of a kettle in the room rather than go down to 2nd floor. More coffee pods should be provided (3 is not enough)

Wish we could have had a river view but no room was available.
Perfect River North location. Just across the river from the Wrigley Building, Trump hotel, and the Chicago Tribune building. Near Millennium Park and more restaurants than you can shake a stick at. Room was spacious and modern. The chilled water bottle stations on every floor was an unexpected treat!

Having only two elevators for floors above the 10th was usually not an issue, but became an annoyance during "rush hours", when it took a solid 10-15 minutes just to go up to my room to drop off my bags.
Comfortable, excellently priced hotel in a historic high-rise right on the Chicago River in the heart of downtown, within easy walking distance of the Art Institute, Cloud Gate, and other tourist attractions as well as the Magnificent Mile and nightlife of River North. The lounge on the second floor offers free coffee, there is a gym and laundry facilities in the basement, and the free wifi worked well during our entire stay. The front desk staff was friendly and efficient, making sure that my invoice would be ready in time for checkout early in the morning. Getting in and out to O'Hare and Chicago neighborhoods is simple, with all El lines within three blocks. I was in town for a conference at a nearby, much pricier hotel, where our colleagues had to pay daily for wifi (and coffee), so this is definitely the place to stay if you're on a budget and still want to treat yourself. Plus if you're lucky enough to get a riverside room, you will not be disappointed by the spectacular skyline views!
