Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaOK - I know that the name of the hotel is Coconut Waikiki, but I have a strong aversion to coconut taste and smell. The amenities are all coconut scented. Because we have stayed at the Coconut before, I knew to bring my own soap, shampoo etc. It would be nice if they had a stash of alternatives but in real life, I know that is not something that I would expect--just wishful hoping as I know we will be returning to the Coconut in the future.
Convenient location. Nice being closer to the canal. Although the road along the canal can be noisy--it does not seem to be as bad as the main road along the beach.

AustraliaMicrowave was very dirty inside. But understand that it might not be checked after each guest. No washing up liquid or cloth to wash dishes etc.
Lobby had plenty of comfortable seating with filtered water, tea and coffee and fresh popcorn in the afternoon. We were offered shower and toilet facilities to freshen up as we arrived really early. The upgrade to the larger room was great with a 2nd bathroom-! Location was fantastic. Great value for money. Staff were very nice

MaltaParking is not available and quite pricey - i’m guessing it’s the same in all waikiki but it feels like they’re robbing you of something very basic. I mean the island is huge, parking is not a problem for sure - it’s like they just want to make extra money off tourists! Again, it’s not a hotel problem - more of an island problem.
The location & the willingness of the staff to help! The street adjacent to the hotel has free parking!

GermanyThe room was ok but it had not been really thoroughly cleaned. And it was facing the street, so it was very noisy. I would not stay there again
The staff were all very nice and helpful, location was good, walking distance to pretty much everything downtown.

Czech RepublicWe had a room facing the main street which was sometimes a bit loud.
The staff was incredibly nice, friendly & very helpful. The location was also very good, away from the crowds & restaurants but not too far to the beach. You will have here more peace than by the Waikiki beach.

AustraliaThe air con unit in the room had a very bright LED temperature indicator, making it a little hard to sleep. Mattresses felt old, not very comfortable. My bed was missing a sheet (other twin bed was fine). Decor a little dated, hallways especially tired, but much of the paint looked fresh. No major complaints, things were right as you'd expect for the price point.
Good location, not a far walk from the main action in Waikiki. Great value for money for being in the middle of town, feels like a young hotel, saw mostly 20somethings and young families assumingly attracted by the price which adds a nice vibe to it. Corner block good for getting taxis and uber pickups, good for getting to the airport as well. Bathroom had an actual vent fan, rare for any hotel! Popcorn in the lobby was a hit with kids. Seemed to be well maintained for a 3 star hotel, nothing was broken or out of order that I could see (elevators, coffee machines, vending machine, pool and pool chairs all good). Staff were very friendly, again a very young vibe, the manager on duty very kindly looking after my daughter with some complimentary popcorn which lifted her mood after a very long flight. Always got an acknowledgement walking through the lobby, which is also uncommon for hotels outside of the very top bracket.

United States of AmericaI believe that there may have been either dust mites or mold in the room because I got extremely sick and I couldn't shake it but when I left the room and got another room it went away. I believe that they need to dust it real good and clean the ducks of the air conditioner because that's the only thing I know I'm allergic to that triggered me.
Friendly environment I was able to get the mountain view which was beautiful. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean. Staff is 5 plus rated. I mean star service.
