A little noisy from road traffic if you stay on the garden side. Dinner was ok just soup and salad but pricey.'I did not expect to pay $17 extra for their hospitality and garden maintenance.

Outstanding gardens and property. The baby ducks were so cute! The history of this hotel is very interesting. Lots to do in Hood River. The Hood River Railway trip is a must!

There is NO coffee machines in rooms and the coffee down stairs was ice cold when we tried to get it . I requested some and had to wait 20 plus minutes because they were under staffed . Also, be aware there is only one elevator and staff has to operate it so you must ask. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get help with this due to them being constantly busy . This resulted in my knee crunching by the end of the night climbing up to the top floor. I Couldn’t get a drink either being so crowded in the lounge.

Enjoyed the outside of property and location. It is very much a historic building and grounds are beautiful. Holiday lights were a nice touch . Room was clean and stayed warm. Staff was friendly just needed more staff . Location of hotel is near attractions. Also, enjoyed the piano player who was very talented.

Staff in the lounge and bar were nonexistent! No customer service. We waited around and moved around for 1/2 hour. Thought about appetizers and drinks but left and went into town for dinner and drinks. Came back later that evening and same thing! No acknowledgement that we even existed. No customer service. Went back to the room and had our own drinks and appetizers.

Check in was great. Molly was delightful! Our room was wonderful.

The bed pillows were either feather (allergic) or very hard. Otherwise, the room was very nice.

The hotel is beautiful, the grounds are really lovely and there are nice paths to explore. The staff was so friendly, the Christmas buffet was delicious. We will definitely be back.

The room was comfortable. The lounge lobby was a perfect place to enjoy drinks and music by the fireplace. The piano player was such a great addition. The grounds were so lovely all lit up for Christmas. I couldn't have hoped for a more enjoyable stay.

One should consider that the hotel is located right next to the freeway. So garden view is rather garden/freeway view and while we were there the noise was quite extreme. Unfortunately this made it the worst night during our holiday. Getting decent sleep might be possible if you face the river.

Lovely interior, very friendly staff, nice view from the outside/common areas on the gorge, breakfast alright, cool old elevator and historic atmosphere.
