Building could definitely use some maintenance. First impressions mean a lot. Entryway needs work and so do the grounds. some outside lights were not working and windows in rooms need some attention.

The breakfast was very good. Coffee was excellent. Room was comfortable and clean.

We stayed 4 nights and only had house keeping come in one day. We had to ask for more towels. One night someone checked in late and was real loud. They woke us up.

The location was good, but when we checked in we were told not to leave anything in the car of value due to a recent break in. The room was nice, just had to turn the temp down low to get it cool.

The breakfast was advertise as hot breakfast but it wasn't really worth it, the room ac didn't work well so we kept waking up all sweaty and for some reason people kept talking in the hallway.

Breakfast was to simple. We were expecting eggs and biscuits and gravy like most other places we have stayed but we didn't eat there once.

It was pretty clean for the most part until we looked out the window and seen the disgusting pool. I understand it was still cold to swim but a huge eye sore.

I think they could update some things like curtains and the mats in the bathtub and new toilet seats. Sink in bathroom was clogged thank god they had a plunger.

The room served its purpose for the one night we were there. Saw a concert at the rivers casino and the drive was close. Enjoyed the town of Portsmouth

We were in room 209 and the paint was chipped on the walls, the covers that go over the box spring were not on properly leaving us to see the dirty mattress cover underneath There was dust on the lamps and the end table The tub was gross and the shower curtain looked like it had a burn hole in it in a non smoking facility

Hotel needs to be upgraded to modern fixtures, flooring, decor, and MOST DEFINITELY ATTENTION NEEDS TO BE IN LANDSCAPING. That was a turnoff.

Apparently booking thru booking.com rather than direct, we don't get the full correct info. Booking.com shows hot breakfast served, swimming pool and fitness center...and we were told Yes of course, we can put a cot in the room no extra charge. When in fact, since Covid, the pool has not been operational and that and the fitness center looked somewhat broken down.... and no hot breakfast provided as before..just cold cereal and packaged muffins...AND they do not and never have had cots to put in rooms!!!!

The hotel was only accessible through the front door, there was no other entry, not even another secure entry. The hotel still advertises a free hot breakfast. In order to have a hot breakfast, you have to microwave the frozen sausage or egg and cheese biscuits. Besides that there are packaged granola bars, cereal bars, muffins, yogurt, bananas, oatmeal, and cereal with milk,juice, water, coffee, and tea options. The parking was a little inconvenient if the lot filled. The only place that we could find to park was the back of the hotel (entry was in the front so we had to walk around the entire hotel to gain entry) or in an area with a sign that says "Prone to flooding, Park at your own risk).

The staff were very friendly, especially Hedy(?) working breakfast, she was exceptionally sweet, she explained why there was no hot breakfast without us even inquiring. The hotel was clean. The beds were comfortable and had efficient covering and pillows! The AC was nice and cold and set to the lowest temp when we arrived so the room was nice and cool! The room was spacious! The front door locked at a certain time at night and you had to use your key to gain access to the inside, that was a nice safety feature! We didn't have any problems during our stay with anything!
