One of our rooms had no hot water. The FD said they knew about it but didnt offer a solution. The other room had a plumbing issue with the tub not draining. A few sketchy characters lingering in the parking lot. Super small square pillows.

Location was right off 95. The staff was very helpful and pleasant! Beds were clean and comfy. The room was smaller but clean. I slept well. Mexican restaurant across the street has great food!

We were placed in a room near dogs and were not asked in advance if it was okay. Succumbed a little to my hay fever symptoms which were mild as the place was kept clean.

Room was a little on the small side.

The bed was extremely comfortable. My husband and I both had a great night's sleep. This was just a stopover for us on our way north and it was great having such a comfortable bed and good night's rest.

All rooms should have handicap bathrooms so that if a handicap room isn’t available people with disabilities could stay in your facility. The toilets were to low and makes it very difficult for people with disabilities to use them.

We did not feel safe outside as we were bringing in our bags. There was another guest walking around out front screaming at someone on his phone, extremely intoxicated, and urinating in the front of the building on the grass. 🥺

Location was right off 95. Very  convenient  for us as we were traveling. Front desk staff was very friendly and got us checked in quickly room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good.

When we booked this room, we indicated that we were traveling with small dogs. The rate we were quoted was $127.99, and that seemed reasonable, given the timing of our stay. (Most hotels have excellent availability on Christmas Eve, as most travelers hope not to be driving on that day.) When I checked in at the hotel, I was surprised to learn that the pet fee was $25 per dog, increasing the total we paid for this room to $177.99. Moreover, the clerk had difficulty posting the charge to our room and asked that I check my VISA account to see whether the $50 had gone through. Had I known that we would be paying this much for a one-night stay, I would have booked a room with another chain that has more reasonable pet fees or no pet fees at all. Also, the room we had was clean and fairly spacious. However, the hotel had a musty smell, and there were what appeared to be dehumidifiers running in the hallways. For our return trip, my husband and I booked with a chain that had no pet fees and saved more than $100 in room charges. In the interest of building strong customer loyalty, I think that Choice Hotels should waive pet fees for travelers who are on the road on Christmas Eve and/or ensure that the pet fee requirement is more prominently mentioned on the chain's website.

Because of the severe winter storm that hit most of the US on December 23, my husband and I had to alter our travel plans and start our drive to North Carolina on Christmas Eve. This change in our plans affected our hotel reservation: we decided to avoid the mountains and changed our route to one along I-95. Since we had initially booked a hotel in Harrisonburg, VA, through Booking.com, we were able to have that agency revise our reservation so that we could stay a day later than initially planned. Happily, the Comfort Inn in Leesburg, VA, accepted our reservation, and we found that this hotel was in the ideal location--just off I-95.

I was charged twice for the room. I mentioned to the receptionist that it looked to me that the charge had gone through twice on my credit card and was told that it had only gone through once. I see tonight that there’s two pending charges from the hotel. Hopefully one of them will be dropped tomorrow.
