Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Had lighting problems in the room.
Had the breakfast only one morning and it was fine. The location (ie, quiet spot) was very nice. No blaring horns or other outside noise. Room was comfortable and clean.

The hotel was very clean and accommodations comfortable. We parked our car at the hotel for an extra daily fee, so it was very convenient. All the staff members were very, very helpful and went above and beyond to assist me, my daughter and other guests. When the staff learned that some guests needed to have their breakfast a little earlier than usually scheduled, they cheerfully arranged to have some boxed breakfasts available for them.

- the hotel is in the middle of anywhere - subway 5 mins walk away, but there is nothing to see or do in the vicinity as a tourist. DUMBO is 1 hour walk away - room was compact for a family of 4 - just literally being able to walk around the beds - breakfast was ok for the hotel price, but many things finished quickly and were not replenished. Also very little space for the amount of people coming for breakfast. Single people or couples should be directed by staff to sit at tables for two, not tables for 4 - because families were unable to sit with kids, while single people were occupying larger tables

Netflix and other streaming should be an option on the tv in the rooms, not just basic cable.

We are in the process of resolving an issue with the payment. We were charged twice: via Booking.com and on our credit card. I know it will be resolved. I trust in your ability to resolve this issue.
Breakfast was very good and the Mexican guy who was in charge of the breakfast was exceptional. He told me he was Mexican. Sorry I forgot his name.

The staff was not very accomodating and gave us disinformation regarding payment options. Every desk klerk said something else.
The location, although in an unpleasant industrial area, is 5 minutes away from prospect park and park slope, brooklyn museum. So very easy the quickly find a nice place to eat or walk around.

Room was wayyy to small, I didn't even had space to open my suitcase properly and we had to sleep 4 nights without heating after complaining about it everyday (005). On the 5th they moved us to a next room. (302)

I was too cold at night couldn’t figure out how to adjust the heat. Also the shower was not hot enough to get in. I had to wash up standing at the sink and even that water was barely Luke warm.

The AC and heating in my room wasn’t working properly and there was construction being on top done on top of my floor. I couldn’t find an ice machine or a dispenser to get water. Although they were selling items. I also wish there was an accessible microwave in the room, but it seems lots of hotels are doing that.
The staff was very receptive to our feedback on the room, and replaced us somewhere else more comforting. The open complementary breakfast had lots of variety

The housekeeper didn't report the tile was broken. It needs to replace .The tile between the beds.

The breakfast was okay; probably meed a better non-stick spray for the waffle machine.
