Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Dated. I couldn’t figure out how to turn shower day set on. The faucet has to be unscrewed which is weird. I had to ask a maid to assist and apparently it’s a common question.

Everything was great except the fact that the pool was not open. The spa was but it was a small space and so many kids in it since the pool was not open. We booked specifically because there was an indoor pool. I understand things happen but the website should have been updated with a notice that the pool was not open so that people are prepared.
The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. The staff was very nice and easy to deal with. The beds were very comfortable.

I booked a room with 2 queen beds and was given a room with 2 smaller, full size beds. The heater thermostat wasn't working properly so I froze my butt off in a small bed, with no extra blankets in the room.

How booking .com was not helpful. After confirming my reservation, and sending a receipt booking.com sent a virtual credit card that was expired. I had to call Hong Kong and then they put me on hold, then hung up on me. I am done with booking.com. I moved to choice hotels.

Had a small issue with a 'running' toilet. Reported it to the front desk and they immediately had a maintenance person on it. Fixed in less than 10 minutes and it only took that long because he had to get a new flapper valve. Great response.

Towards the end of the hallway on the first floor it smelled like cigarrettes. Also there was two or three trucks that had trailers parked in the back taking up alot of the parking spaces
The rooms were clean and the breakfast was good.

The smell of the room was very bad with a smoky musty smell and triggered my allergies. They said it was because the room had been closed up without air running, but it was way more than that. The hot tub is chipping and has some sharp edges. The fire alarm was set off by the front desk worker spraying bug spray for flies at 10:30pm. I had been asleep roughly an hour, so it was hard to get back to sleep. I had asked for ground floor room when I made the reservation due to mobility issues. If that had been a real fire, there is no way I could have made 3 flights of stairs. All the parking is in a parking lot at the far end of the building. Nothing near a door or even visible from the room.
There is breakfast... more than just packaged pastries, but the eggs are soupy and sausage links over cooked. There was plenty of clean towels which I loved. Pool was open, which was a desiding factor in booking this hotel.

There was no hair dryer in the room. I used to work at a different hotel and we were i stalling the same shampoo/conditioner dispensers like here. Personally, I prefer the individual ones.
The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were pleasant and happy to assist as we checked in and out.

The eggs and potatoes were undercooked. Eggs awfully runny. I threw them and the potatoes away. Bread seemed stale, threw it away. Had juice and coffee... coffee was good! The bathroom in our room stinks like old drainage or old leaking. Carpets terribly worn.
Breakfast location is great. The coffee was great. Morning desk staff great! Easy access to interstate. Well maintained outside of building.
