To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United KingdomShuttle only comes hourly, so had a long wait at airport. Same on return. It was also crowded and late. We were picking up a rental car at airport, so no rush, but might have been panicking if catching a flight

United KingdomThat there isn't a bar. Once you give your card details, even though I paid upfront a few months ago. Little amounts came out of my bank account each day, but this wasn't explained to me at the time of checking in. This would have saved me uneccsasary worry. I knew about the 250-pound hold a week before. Unfortunately, at a previous holiday destination, this happened to me before with the little amounts going out of my bank account, but on that occasion, this was stolen from my account. Hence, my worry.
The room was very fresh and clean. Had everything we needed. As soon as I walk into the hotel, you notice how nice it smelt and how clean it was. The staff are friendly and they acknowledged you from the cleaning staff, Receptionist or Security. Breakfast is included in our price and the choice of food was reasonable. Originally, I was a bit worried before we got to the hotel as I had read the other reviews, which weren't favourable to this particular hotel.

United States of AmericaIt was a little difficult getting the shuttle at first - for both the airport and cruise - very busy, but the staff was very helpful and friendly and we got to our locations on time. We had to call to figure out where to catch the airport shuttle to the hotel - which is more of an airport issue because there were so many locations to go to. And even though we made "reservations" for the cruise shuttle in the morning, it still seemed to be first come, first serve. The first shuttle filled up even before the time it was supposed to leave, and the next one filled quickly also, leaving people still standing after the original shuttle time. Location was not great for walking to find restaurants but there was a really good sports bar down the street and that sufficed for dinner.
Picked this location because of their free airport shuttle and port shuttle for our cruise. Was a good free breakfast in the morning as well. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
