Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaI was not happy with the late check in of 4pm. I received a text message from the hotel that asked my arrival time. I texted back 1pm. The room was not ready. Why did they ask and not have the room ready?
The room was very comfortable. The hotle was built in 1816 so the expected uneven floors and imprerfections were expected. The total feel of the hotel was perfect.

United States of AmericaOur room was right next to an outdoor air condenser. Very very loud. We both did not sleep well because of it. We told the staff when we checked out.
The view of the ocean from our room. The breakfast was superb! The history and beauty of the grounds and building. The closeness to the market was very nice. Very nice beach town.

United States of AmericaThe cafe was under-staffed for a weekend so there was quite a wait for breakfast beverages and food and my order was missed so I had to repeat my request.
Loved the history and room was decorated very nicely. I enjoyed the toiletries from the local farm. The bed was very comfortable and staff very helpful. Breakfast was not included but I used the cafe service for morning coffee and a muffin. The valets were very quick and obliging

United States of AmericaWe were on the 3rd floor, and there was an extra set of stairs that were connecting us to our room. I wasn’t aware of this during the booking process and it caused inconvenience because we had a stroller for our 2 year old
Old but well maintained hotel, very clean. It’s very convenient that that they have a coffee shop onsite! I loved that.

United States of Americathe price of our room might have been better for this time of year. The weather was too cold and windy to walk the beach. We tried sitting outside, but it was a bit too cold.
We really enjoyed the history in the hall. The shops were interesting and everyone we encountered was very nice and helpfull. The breakfast in the restaurant was excellent.

United States of AmericaCost, pretentious,
We owned a home in Cape May for 25 years and we have stayed at Congress Hall in the past. The price for our accommodations was too high. It's a nice historical place, but over priced. There are other lovely historical places to stay in Cape May and we will do that on our next trip.

United States of AmericaThis is an old building that shows its age in every place. The heavy, old doors to rooms and to outdoors were difficult to open/close. There were no USB ports anywhere in our room to charges phones, etc. My wife was able to turn the key in the lock to our room.
