No coffee, not even when we asked to buy some in the lobby? The staff made excuses that the guy before him didn't put it on. That does 't matter to us and is unproffessional. Don't blame your colleagues! No filtered water. Bed too hard for me, I am small. But my partner liked it.

Cute room. Good with carpets otherwise the floor would have been too cold.

Our room was missing a light bulb in one of the bedside lamps. Convenience store prices were a little high for some of the items. They had dollar store bath salts for $4.

I loved the aesthetic of the hotel and the location was awesome. My husband and I walked down to Corktown and checked out all the cute little shops down there. The coffee was excellent at the hotel itself as well. One of our keycards demagnetized and they didn't give us any issue with replacing it. The manager on shift told us they're switching to a new system so it shouldn't be an issue in the future. I loved having art books in the rooms with pictures of other areas of the hotel and of the Detroit area. There's a lot to do withing 20 minutes of this place. My husband and I are big Detroit fans, so this was the perfect little spot for us to stay.

Once we started looking past the aesthetic, we had a couple of problems. The walls were really thin, I could hear coughing/ talking in both of the rooms next to us. The room felt like a dorm and the bed itself we didn't find super comfortable (the bedding was nice though). The shower had a half glass door with a hole in it to turn on the water, but you couldn't reach the knob to turn the shower on from there so you had to get all the way in first The shower floor was slippery and if you didn't angle the shower head right, water got all over half the floor. I felt like we were paying for the aesthetic over function which is okay to do every once in a while!

I loved the aesthetic of this hotel, I totally got the vibe they were going for. It felt very trendy. The staff we came across were friendly and I am always a big fan of a hotel coffee shop. All of the local touches were great! We didn't get any of the wine or snacks but it looked like they had a good offering. The neighborhood seemed really chic , I wanted to visit a few of the places. The restaurant was closed but I would be interested in coming back to check on what they have going on! Parking seemed safe and was only $10 a night.

Staff not particularly service oriented. Restaurant closed for all meals "during spring" but no notification at the booking stage. Rooms ok - more upgraded motel than artisan hotel. Historic hotel reviews don't reflect the current state.

Basic gymnasium facilities but adequate for a few days.

The room was mostly clean but a few dust bunnies in the corner showed it hadn't been really thoroughly cleaned.

This hotel is in a great location and is a cool little hotel with nicely appointed rooms. Beds are very comfortable, sheets are nice quality, soaps, shampoos etc,. are decent quality.

We were in a very small room with VERY thin walls. We didn't mind the minimalist look/ feel, but the concrete floors were really uncomfortable and the room didn't hold heat well. The hotel wasn't very full, but we were in a room right next to someone who had his TV on all night, very loud. The desk staff tried to help us by calling him, but wasn't successful. We ended up pounding on the door at 3am. Needless to say, it wasn't a very good night sleep.

We like the overall vibe and the fact that it's an independently owned boutique hotel.we'd be curious to see what it's like in the warmer months.

Shower didn't have a door/curtain (just a half glass wall) so water got everywhere in the bathroom and some black mold spots on the ceiling of the shower from poor ventilation

Loved the location and the overall vibe of the hotel. The room was average size but was well kept. There is a 150 deposit and a 20 dollar a night parking fee accessed after booking that could be communicated a bit better but that's pretty typical of hotels now.
