Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Granted I got to breakfast within the last hour, but it was cold. Everything else was great!!!
Honestly didn’t know what to expect. I figured, and wrongly so, that since it was more affordable that it would be dumpy but I was genuinely impressed. Great job, great room. If I’m ever back in Richmond in the future, I know where I’m staying.

The AC unit in the room we were in smelled like old socks when running. This means there is a drainage issue with the unit and it should be cleaned and serviced. There are plenty of videos online to show someone how to do the job.

The bathroom floor was a little dirty.
It was tucked away off busy street front and was clean. It offered a breakfast that wasn’t bad. The staff was great! I booked online, somewhere in the vicinity of Richmond International Airport.

The smell of the rooms were bad though. We switched rooms because it smelled like there had been a water leak. The room was musty and moldy smelling. The second room smelled musty but it was better than the first. The staff was really great to work with. I wish we could have ended up with a room that didn’t smell bad but I wasn’t sure if that was even possible.
The breakfast was fine. Nothing fancy but filled you up and it had a decent variety of foods to choose from. The hotel is old but clean

They told me the wrong time for breakfast, and I had a 5.5-hour trip ahead of me. They should put the info in writing in the room with a do not disturb sign to hang on the door. Maid service tried to come in and clean at 930 am. when chk out was 12 pm. My husband was asleep, and I was in the shower. Not cool.

Breakfast did not have someone watching over it closely. They ran out of things with no restock on most items. No coffee with more than 30 minutes left on breakfast window
We had an ada room so it was spacious. Room was clean but needed one more towel. 4 people got 3 towels...Hmmm

the room was kinda small and didn't have alot of walking space. there was cracks on the side of the bathtub and the shower made a weird noise every time it was turned on.

With respect for property’s age… very low toilet with loose plastic seat was surprising; USB ports lacking at bedside. Breakfast presentation of institutional eggs & sausage was odd, all crowded into in one steamer tray and lukewarm (8am). Powdered scrambled eggs rather thin and tasted of city water. Bread/bagels were fresh, other breakfast options seemed adequate & the dining area was clean & pleasant. **Also-difficult to find the correct turn to the hotel from Broad Street! It’s set back on a busy road with lots of businesses & we didn’t see any signage - easy to drive past

There was a lot of noise, cars in the dropoff area blasting music. Looks to be a place where people come to party in the area. But it did the job. We won't stay there again. There was nobody around the first morning so we went out for breakfast. The second morning the lady was lovely.
They keep the place clean and the staff (that I saw anyway) were wonderful. It's weird that they stay in the room behind the desk, but I guess they don't want to be seen unless someone comes in. Probably more comfortable back there! lol
