Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

If I have a complainant, it would be the extra long hallway, but doable on a motorized wheelchair.
We loved the room. The beds were comfortable and true queens. (Too many times, beds are advertised as queens, but they turn out to be large double.) The living room area was an added bonus. The grandchildren enjoyed the pool, which was 3 feet deep all around and not intimidating. They enjoyed the hot tub as well. The breakfast was hot and a decent variety of dishes. The coffee was good and strong.

Nothing.
Good motel in Bakersfield. The motel facility seems quite old, but the room was clean. Breakfast was good. When we arrived in out room the air conditioning was set to 16 Celsius degrees, so it was very cold.

Powdered eggs at breakfast and small beds slightly uncomfortable. The shower didn’t have a door or curtain so water got everywhere

We were on the first floor and the window opens up to a brick wall. The surroundings are a bit shady
The room was very clean and renovated. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was rich and great. The stuff was very nice and helpful. We didn't use the pool but it seemed inviting.

It’s a bit shabby and it’s older. It definitely needs a makeover. In my room I also noticed stuff on the floor behind the drapes like it hadn’t been vacuumed thoroughly.
The people who own it and the people who work there are all very nice. I’m in my 70s and traveling alone. A couple of different people from the place offered me help with moving my things in and out even though they didn’t have to since it’s definitely a “do-it-yourself” kind of place.

Nothing, really recommend if you are in Bakersfield
Room was comfortable and spacious. We had to work from the hotel and the additional space + the internet worked perfectly. Breakfast was also really good! Overall great experience

The air-conditioning was very loud. Apart from that everything was nice.
The service was very nice, receptionists were very sweet and helpful - in particular when we arrived and needed help with different things. The room itself was nice even though very far from the reception. It was well-equipped and clean. Breakfast was AMAZING - scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, fresh fruits - and real plates and cutlery - no plastic!!! (Which as we found out during our road trip was very special to see in the US, and we were so thankful for this!!) :)

Management and staff did fine considering the very large group which stayed tightly packed together throughout their stay.
Staff was very pleasant and efficient even when a very large group arrived and all got up at the same time in the morning and almost overtook the dining facility.
