Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaWe weren’t prepared for getting our suitcases up the stairs, but managed it. The maintenance was lacking. The ceiling light was missing bulbs and the one working illuminated all the dead insects left in the cover. The shower water has rotted the wooden window frame. The fan in the kitchen ceiling doesn’t work making it uncomfortable to sit for any length at the table to eat. The table itself is unstable, causing drinks to spill. There were no placemats or tablecloths provided. The refrigerator door is hung on the wrong side making it difficult to retrieve items. There were limited linens but the host did bring more at our request.
The location was great. The 1920s apartment was built to withstand the gulf weather. The flow of the apartment was really easy and useful

United States of AmericaThe light on the AC was bright but it was cold outside so we just turned it off. It was a bit loud from cars outside but we appreciated the earplugs the host provided. The pillows were flat, the only real thing I'd change would be to have better pillows to sleep on. Otherwise the place was perfect. Would love to stay again.
Such a cute place close to Toyota Center, George R Brown and Discovery Green and lots of food places to eat. There was everything in the apartment that we needed. Lots of mirrors, coffee and even a toothbrush, since I forgot mine. Plenty of space for a couple The bed was comfortable and the space was very inviting.

United States of AmericaI have a ton of crap when I go places, having a baby and all. The building being well over 100 years old, well into the 1800s no elevator. I had to haul so much stuff up the stairs. Wasn't pleasant. Can't really complain, that's not their fault, just an inconvenience. There was one issue I had with the room itself. There were small broken bits of plastic all over the floor. I have a toddler who puts everything in his mouths. Being paranoid, I found them all immediately. At least most of them. It would appear the room wasn't swept... That would be the only issue.
This is a very old building. I actually like old buildings. My grandmother owned a Victorian house, so it felt special. The Aesthetic they were going for seemed very 90's based. It was somewhat funny to see, but I did enjoy it. Red paint, fancy pictures. Just like every building ever.

United States of AmericaThe apartment was nice enough, but the building is a dump. The porch in the photos looked nice. In reality, there was no nice furniture and others had access to it - for smoking, for visiting, etc. It meant no privacy inside since the bedroom & dining area windows looked onto the porch. There were no nice views from any window. Traffic noise and loud talking was horrendous and bothersome until well after midnight. The space was described as sound-proof. IT IS NOT. The basic rental fee was reasonable but the cleaning fee is really high, especially given what I noticed after arrival. When I plugged in my power strip (there are never enough outlets in old buildings), I saw a lot of dust under the bed. The coffeemaker had not been cleaned - there were old grounds and condensation in it. The bathroom hand soap dispenser was empty. A good cleaning crew would have taken care of these. There's no sitting area - a love seat and ottoman would have been nice instead of 2 basic armless chairs. I did not appreciate being surprised by a mandatory $250 damage deposit about an hour before I arrived. I had to download a cash app in order to take care of that. That should have been made clear BEFORE BOOKING. I also didn't get word that the entrance to the building is actually on Bell Street until right before arrival - I didn't check email until after I'd parked far away then realized I should have been on another street. Communication was inadequate. While the host tells guests there is no free parking except on Sundays, she fails to say is that you are limited to only 3 hours in any space AND you cannot renew it, which means you have to move your car when time expires. This creates logistical nightmares when one attends a nearby event because you have to leave the event, move the car elsewhere, and then do it again until 6 p.m. Lots near the Toyota Center are quite expensive when there's an event taking place, so parking can be a real problem.
Location was good - close to the George Brown Convention Center, where the event I came for was held.

United States of AmericaThe studio was ok, I understood what people were saying about the air conditioner. But if you followed her rules it was pretty decent. I had to let the room cool off first then I was able to let kitchen cool off. Which was hot muggy and humid, there is a lot of loud music from the street. But it’s also downtown, in my opinion there is nothing to go to in walking distance. The ceiling fan part in the dining room does not work, only the light part. And the bathroom is a ok size, just watch your head or you will bang it on the sink. And also if watch the shower. It’s very slippery. Other then that the bed was nice and comfortable the room was very spacious, the host was quick in her response.
