Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IsraelThe whole place is technically one unit, with subdivisions made of walls that do not reach the ceiling and curtains. Even the kitchen and the common room are technically in the same space as the dorm beds (and some of the so called "private rooms". Therefore, there is no privacy feeling in the place, which also made me feel insecure. The lights in the bathrooms turn on with a movement detector, so when using the toilet/shower I had to actively make sure they would not turn off. The kitchen is not so spacious. There is no breakfast as they advertise here (but there is coffee), sometimes there are eggs from the chickens and they are free to use.
The hostel staff were nice and welcoming. The place is probably the only hostel in the area. There is a parking for place, which is important since public transport is almost non-existent in the area.

MexicoNothing to report here. I got what I needed in terms of a place to rest and a little interaction with others. So nothing to report,.
The interaction with others in a hostel is more personal than a hotel. It's a totally different experience which is what I'm looking for.

United States of AmericaI wish there was a way to convey that you actually are not guaranteed the room you reserve as it’s not paid for until you arrive. The sleeping arrangements were a bit tight and awkward as there is not much privacy even in a private room. The walls while tall are not connected to the ceiling and they are thin. This did make for a quiet atmosphere at night I just found it hard to relax when coming in at bar close. It’s easy for everyone to hear everything that is going on throughout the main house. I wish I’d had known about the price structure and the option to book directly as this would have been a great place to stay for a long visit as I’m sure it would be very interesting to meet the broad range of people staying and working here.
This is very much a European type hostel and seems to provide very reasonably priced accommodations for those who are into the hostel atmosphere. There is an eclectic vibe and that must be experienced to understand. I felt safe and I’d recommend booking onsite just so you can select your accommodation and get a feel for pricing etc. I could see this being a good transitional living space for someone trying to find a place to live.

United States of AmericaThe roosters who crowed day and night! Hard to sleep when they're not in sync with mother nature. I didn't like the fact that we had to sleep with a big spider! Worst yet there was nobody there to report it to. Also it's very hot in this desert and we asked if they had ice. The fridge didn't have an ice maker so we went to buy some. We asked if we could put it in the freezer and we would share it with everyone. The answer was NO. The icing on the cake was the dirty bottom sheet! Looked like spilled split pea soup! For the price I'd book again. I'll bring raid and my own sheets.
The location was semi secluded yet everything you might need is very close.

United States of AmericaGood value. The chickens and cats were a nice addition, especially the eggs for breakfast. I went on a run from this location and felt very safe. The staff was nice, but beds were not super comfortable and the "walls" between each room don't keep out any sound--would definitely recommend bringing earplugs.

NetherlandsIt is pretty noisy at night because the rooms/dorms are not really 'separate', so definitely bring earplugs and a sleeping mask (which are essentials for every hostel anyways). However, I think the price is a bit too expensive for the quality of the hostel.
It looked a bit sketchy, not like your average traveller's hostel, but the people were very nice and I had a good time there! I liked the garden with the chickens and the kitten was adorable as well. The location was good for hiking in Joshua Tree National Park!

United States of AmericaLoud construction and the older gentleman made me pay an extra $5 for using Venmo when they told me it wouldn’t be an extra charge and made a thing out of it so it was just a weird interaction as I was checking out:(
Gary was very nice but they will nickel and dime you for sure!It was clean and cheap so you get what you pay for and not much else. They had a kitty that was adorable and chickens that were so cute! Probably my favorite part of the place for sure;) I was in desperate need a place to sleep that night for an affordable price and that’s exactly what you get.

United States of AmericaThe location is a bit out of the way for someone without a vehicle. I was never offered breakfast, so I'm not sure that this hostel offered such a service. I did notice a sign in the kitchen offering free (raw) eggs, so this might have been the breakfast. The bed was okay, but I'm used to a firm mattress and would have slept better if the bed was more comfortable. It would be extremely helpful to add some hooks to the private room for hanging clothes and drying one's towel.
The folks running this hostel really seemed to care about their guests and this made me feel happy and welcomed. The place was clean (much cleaner than I had expected), and the private room I was offered was small but cozy and inviting. Clean bedding and a fresh towel were highly appreciated. I felt peaceful while staying at this hostel and would definitely recommend others to try.

United States of AmericaOvercast. Crashpod seemed desolate when I arrived. Just a little too far and late to commute from my downtown meetings by bus, so on meeting night I stayed with people who booked a room at the Renaissance, a glam Palm.Springs experience..
Private room seemed unnecessary until the weekend when Crashpod filled up. Bus 2 to Palm Springs. Friday night the hostel filled the refrigerator with food for guests. Nearby store. Security was tight. I.appreciated Crashpod's authenticity of place in the desert, and not just staying in the center of town. Not having to make a choice,, the chance to stay at Crashpod seemed uniquely awesome.

United States of AmericaBait and switch. They advertised (and I reserved) a single room with garden view. I get there and am told that what I reserved was a car to sleep in. After protesting that was not correct, I asked if I could pay the advertised difference I'm price to get an actual room with a bed. The price difference on their wall for a room was $45. Then I was told, no, it is the weekend and the single room costs $80. I had no other place to stay so I paid. But they said only way to pay was venmo so I can't even contest the charge on a credit card. The "room" didn't have walls that went to the ceiling. So any sound or light in the main room came into my room. The mattress was lumpy and sagged. A cat inside (not disclosed) woke me in the middle of the night meowing to get out of the place. And the bathroom was filthy. I felt taken advantage of and couldn't wait to leave.
The only redeeming thing was that the water was hot.

AustriaThe breakfast were just two eggs per person to pick up from the chicken who ran outside the house. Unfortunatelly this is not a breakfast which is enough for me, so we went out for breakfast in the morning. I would not offer a breakfast like this! The location was a mess, lots of stuff and rubbish outside the house and it looks like a dump!
