Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaLiterally, almost nothing. Folks who want large rooms may not enjoy the tight spaces but beyond that, I don’t have a negative thing to say.
Crews Quarters is almost directly in the center of town, in a prime location on Commercial Street and just down Carver from the equally exemplary Vifford House. Probably a 10-12 minute walk from the ferry terminal? It is beautiful. Meticulously designed. Thoughtful. Its decor is decidedly masculine, European — but cozy, inviting, sexy. The rooms are small but gorgeous. Hard wood, antique photography, warm and muddy lighting; the comfort level is through the roof. The bathrooms are gorgeous, well supplied with skin care products, and mid evoking. The shared shower stall is sexy as hell, tho a surprise if you’re not prepared for it. The entire place is a vibe — masculine, sexy, evocative.

United States of AmericaThere was a fire/smoke alarm system problem in my room one night but it was resolved immediately or I was going to be moved to a new room.

United States of AmericaSingle rooms can be TINY, and sometimes don’t have a dresser, which means there’s no place besides a closet for your clothes. The bathroom is dimly lit at night, and so are the rooms
The location is terrific. Crew’s Quarters has a semi-cruisy vibe, and the decor recalls a sexy sailor bordello without becoming cheap or trashy.

United States of AmericaThe one host is very friendly, the other host very distant! Not engaging at all. It was difficult finding someone at the front desk: I never did find out the Wi-Fi password & the distant host had no idea what it was!?

Location right on Commercial Street can’t be beat ! Sailors boarding house/brothel decor is quirky and even sexy. Back porch/deck off 2cnd floor is great outdoor retreat.

ArgentinaThe place aesthetic is super cozy and charming, more than the pictures show. I overheard someone say it felt a bit like the immersive theatre experience Sleep No More but in a nice cozy way, and I agree.

United States of AmericaI wish the bar had a few diet choices / mixers for their drinks. Ginger Beer is great, but for those of us whom can't consume mass quantities of sugar, not so good.

United States of AmericaMy room (35) was VERY small and might be more comfortable with a twin bed for a single person. The basement should remain open all the time and maybe there could be parties!
The renovation on the place was fantastic and really conjured a feel of a boarding house at the turn of the century. The men only aspect, coupled with a return to the Crew's Quarters former reputation as a place for men was very welcome. There was a great sense of camaraderie among the guests made the stay warm and fun.

United States of AmericaAlthough it was mostly fine while I was there, I could see it getting too warm in the rooms on the top floor with no air conditioning. The narrow stairs made it hard to carry luggage up to the top floor as well. There were only two outlets in my room from what I saw and the one turned off with the light switch, which made it difficult to charge my phone and ipad throughout the night or while I was out.
The location was ideal, right in the heart of commercial street! The price was also very reasonable in comparison to other places nearby. I also loved the all male, shared bathroom concept. It led to getting to know the neighbors better.

United States of AmericaThe rooms aren’t air conditioned and some get hotter than others in summer, just something to be aware of when booking. I recommend asking for one of the larger rooms.
Excellent central location, super well curated collection of LGBTQ art and pre-mid century design. Really fun little mini cocktail bar on the lobby level, with a cool selection of drinks.
