Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaIt’s way over priced for a shared room. Most hostels are $18-$22. They want $47 plus tax. Ouchhhhh. $12 more I could of stayed at the days inn….. and had full privacy
Location is great. Free parking. And close to the restaurants

United States of AmericaI never received the code to get into the place and when I called the number the person on the phone was super rude to me saying they sent the code and when I asked them to resend they hung up on me. When I got inside I realized there was 1-2 other people in my room. I thought based on the pictures I’d have my own room. The neighborhood is also super sketchy. Would never stay there.

United States of AmericaNO check in information provided prior by booking.com or Crocodhouse. Long drive to the "neighborhood". Called number on door on arrival without response 3 times. Was starting to panick. Uber gone. Sun going and no way to get into house except to maybe start banging on the wooden gate! Emailed and got quick response. Got let in.
Nothing! Not a hostel. Small apartment with shared space for people who left to go to work! Lay over stay. Requested lower bunk and got it. Only 1 initially unfriendly seemingly "long-term " guest in room. Between uber/tip/travel time RT. I should have stayed at an airport hotel for about the same. Shuttle. Breakfast and a decent restuarant I felt safe walking to...

United States of AmericaPrinciples were being broken by my roommate, who was running amok like a bully, baiting and switching according to her moods, like a monkey swinging from a Chandelier. She spend her time defiling everything with mud slinging and persecutional demands, selfish indulgence that fully disrespected everyone else. The first night, she awoke me by banging her bed against the wall, ostensibly to stop snoring that she could hear through the wall. She took liberties all around the house, as if she were the owner's best friend and pet client, scribbling "women's bathroom" on a note and putting it on one of the toilets with the lid closed, showing how she expected the rest of us to cowtow to her demands. These demands were not in line with the property, which allows anyone to use either toilet, and has no designations according to gender. The second night, she did not respond to her alarm, set at 5:30 am, for over 30 minutes, ruining my sleep, after being misleading the night before. Usually, it is those complaining the loudest who are guiltiest of what they are complaining about. Those owning and running this property need to firmly understand that caving in, in order to get short term profit and allow brats with narcissistic monomania to run roughshod over them and everyone else has now nearly destroyed their reputation completely. Petty tyranny has no place in a shared environment, and needs to be guarded against at all times in a communal place like Crocod House. This means the owner and her manager must familiarize themselves with the dynamics of abuse. Anyone being bossy, manipulative, or caught in even one lie should be firmly expelled as too unstable for the others around them to stand. My previous visits had been very civilized, and my roommates, usually gay men or those who respect them, fully responsible and germane.
The property continues to improve in general, but has fallen prey to the erosion that comes from allowing brats to rule the roost. The outdoor area now has a finished treatment of ivy and trellising, and was very serene overall, which makes the problems so tragic. William, the manager, is still a gentleman, but has clearly been worn out by foolishness on the part of the clientele, which can be very manipulative of people who are good at heart and who are of high principle. He and the owner need to educate themselves on the dynamics of domestic abuse, and identify those who will lie on principle, rather than tell the truth, who will always be catastrophically disruptive through their deceitfulness. The presence of anyone like that ruins the experience for everyone else involved, and demeans the business beyond recovery. It is of the utmost importance that those stealing quality of life away from others be dealt with decisively. No one has time to play parent to those incapable of self-parenting, and leaving them in residence is a guarantee of their toxic outlook ruining the stay of everyone else. No narcissist can be allowed to grandstand as was the case this time.
