Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The water pressure in the shower was very weak.
It was clean, quiet and easy to find. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The hot tub was an added bonus. The room was very comfortable and clean.

Loved staying here! close enough to downtown and yet quite serene. We hung out in the garden for some time after check out. The staff was friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend for your escape to the San Juan Island.

There was nothing about the property that was “wrong” or we didn’t like.
Easy to locate, clean, quiet. Beds very comfortable pillows rock hard… I alway bring my own pillow! Staff could have been more help with Island information. They recommend restaurants and beaches but should have informed us about ferry times waits.

Some sound of other guests came through the ceiling but it stopped at the quiet hour.

There was nothing I didn't like.
Breakfast wasn't provided. There was a Keurig coffee maker, frig, and microwave so there is high potential for breakfast. I really liked the coffee maker and how convenient it was. Plus the assortment of condiments was great.

It was cold at night. Needed another blanket on the bed. No room cleaning was done while I was there. Netflix is listed as an app on the TV, but isn't available.
It was clean. The concierge was very friendly and helpful. The distance to town was a short walk. Free chocolate upon arrival. Free You Tube on the TV.

There really was nothing to find fault with or not like.
Miriam at the front desk ran upstairs as soon as we arrived to turn on the heat in our room. Then she checked us in & took out a map to show us the points of interest. The rooms were a good size, very clean, cheerful & bright decor. The coffee bar was generously stocked with coffees, teas & cocoa, complete with microwave & microwave. Altho the hotel isn’t right in the middle of the town, it is just a five minute drive. You can also walk from the hotel to town in 15-20 minutes. Once you get to town there was an abundance of two hour, free street parking stalls. The pool & hot spa were not open for the season.

Decor was a little dated, but facilities were clean and room was just what we needed.
Good location. Close to town. Very friendly staff. There were deer eating in the side yard!

Refrigerator was quite noisy during the night and kept waking me up. Probably just needs some maintenance.
Great location close to town. Beautiful little property with nice green space. The woman who checked is in and was running the place was super nice and helpful! Sorry I forgot her name. But she was excellent and above and gave beyond service.

My only complaint was in this app... I had troubles updating my payment, but again staff was very accomidating and helped us pay at the property.
The room was absolutely gorgeous and the staff was very accommodating. Perfect location just of the "main" strip! I will definitely be booking here for the next trip out.

Mattresses can always be more comfortable when it's not your own. Was looking forward to hot tub didn't know it wasn't open

The only negative information I have is the stairs leading up to 1st floor and stairs going up to second are dark painted black. Believe there be should a line painted in a bright color to be able to be seen at night.
Thought the manager was very friendly and courteous. Allowed us to checkout a little later than was supposed to and gave good info on places to eat.
