We never received our check code to get into the two rooms we booked. We had to call multiple times and someone finally answered . Before that they kept hanging up on us claiming phone issues. The following morning when we were checking out booking.com sent us completely different check in codes when we were leaving. I have been a longtime customer of booking.com and will never book with them again.

Arrival time was indicated within email and booking. No staff on hand to get room or to check in. Had to call a number and wait for email to be sent with room and code. Email was sent the following morning after check in stating room number and code.

Location was perfect for what we were doing within the town. Walking distance to everything we needed.

An older hotel that has been modernized ising big-box store products. Serviceable, sterile, do not think workmanship will stand the test of time (think “lipstick on a pig” with the pig having good bones). But definitely clean!!!!

Upon arrival, I entered the office area and a stand-up board informed me that the check-in and check-out process is now done online and any issues that I encountered could be solved by a phone call. I checked my phone and there was a message noting the room number and door code. This procedure was not explained when I made the reservation so it's fortunate that my phone was charged. Checking out was not really explained so I responded to the check-in message and that seemed to work. Better communications regarding this process would be most helpful for future guests.

The location is excellent - other than in cold weather it's a short and pleasant walk to downtown Rochester. The room, although sparsely furnished, was clean and the HVAC (a unit set in the wall) had been pre-set to a comfortable temperature before our arrival.

The television programing. I don't know how to explain. It didn't have regular cable. Netflix and Prime were there, but I didn't have my passwords. The door of the closet was off and put in the closet. I also blew a fuse when I used their hair dryer to dry my hair. The coffee maker was on, the TV was on then the hair dryer. There were a lot of plugs, but clearly the room couldn't handle the hair dryer with other things on.

The coffee was very good. There were sweets to go with the coffee.

Need to state in advance that the TV is a ROKU set that appears to require guests on login to use. However, in 2023, perhaps basic hotels will be moving to such a service. Listed with a free breakfast. Description is liberal for a set up with small snack-type items.

The property is in the process of a substantial redevelopment. It is well done. Basic, clean, modern room. Very comfortable bed. The room uses a coded keypad rather than a key or card, which we liked. Ideal downtown location. There are a dozen restaurants within walking distance of the property.

Had to change plans and they would not refund my second unused night. The place was far from full, so it's not like they turned someone else away. Will never stay there again, even though everything else was OK. Poor management attitude and I'll tell as many people as I can.

Better window coverings would be good. The blackout drapes were nice for nighttime and privacy, but would like see sheer curtains or blinds in addition to let light in while sitting at the table, without being totally open to others walking by outside the room.

The shower was very slippery, we had to put a towel down so we didn't fall. The floor was a bit dirty, it felt like dirt and crumbs all over the floor. And the blankets a very thin.

Simple and easy room. There is a code entry so you don't need to take a key with you everywhere. Good sized room with a fridge and microwave.

A lot of noise from street. Renovation work on a Saturday even though sign said Mon-Fri only. Noise from floor above was ridiculous. Not people in rooms fault. They might as well have been in my room the walking/shuffling across floor sounds were so loud. Here is a dumb issue. They provide shampoo in little tubes. You get in shower and when you go to use there is a foil piece over hole. It was impossible for me to pull off with wet hands. I had to get out of shower to find something to puncture it with.

We were led to believe that we had the OPTION to move to a different room after the first night. Five of us in the group understood that this was the case. In reality our room with two beds in was required for another booking. This was not clear until the following morning when we were told that we needed to move. We had put everything in its place for staying for six more nights so this was very inconvenient.

The staff were very pleasant and willing to help whenever we asked. We would be happy to stay here again.
