Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

It had a motel feel. Room also felt a little small for two people.
Free fruits and granola bar in the lobby, along with coffee and tea. Ample parking space. The receiptionists were really friendly during checkin and checkout.

Parking is very limited. Breakfast was almost nonexistent. Obly had a few apples and three breakfast bars.

Parking spaces too narrow. Option to upgrade to ocean view (didn’t know that was possible.) Didn’t know there was a coffee machine in the room until the last morning.

The outside of the building may be dated, but the rooms inside have been recently updated and were clean & comfortable. Walkable to old fisherman’s wharf and a main drag of restaurants/bars

Very good location, just 15 minutes walk from fisherman’s wharf. Hotel offers free parking and free WiFi which is bonus. Room was spacious, very clean, beds extremely comfy. We stayed extra night in this hotel.

Thin walls so hear noise from other guests. Super loud bathroom fans (other guests using them woke me up at night) and also super noisy refrigerator that I had to unplug to sleep

The sound from the heater and mini-refrigerator in the room was a stark contrast to the quiet surroundings outside.

Quite modern room, lovely lady at the reception, got a free upgrade, coffee and tea available during office times. Convenient location, just a few minutes to walk into town. Parking in the yard is complimentary.

The only complaint I have is that the small fridge was a little noisy at night.
I liked the space in the room. Comfortable bed , and super clean! Also, it was very quiet. The location was perfect for us. Close to the Fisherman Wharf & Canery Row. Plenty of places to eat near by.

the bed was great except that the pillows had been compressed, folded down and were so fat that they gave me a stiff neck.

We arrived at 3:30pm. Rooms should be ready at 3pm, but were not. Instead of apologizing for inconvenience staff just informed us that room is not gonna be ready at least another 30min. We checked-in and left belongings in one of the rooms. When we returned we were not just given keys for another room - we were asked for credit card information again, we were told that we did not have 1 reservation but 2( I made one reservation in booking.com) and were again asked for deposit. It felt that they don't care about being late and wasting people's time afterwards.
It was clean and comfortable. Location was really good. There was a free parking. Overall it's a nice place to stay.

We stayed in a king bed room that was nicely furnished with a hard wood floor, a refrigerator and microwave. It had a large countertop space and comfortable seating. It was clean, and the bed was comfortable. Our room was very quiet. We like the location, just a few minutes to downtown.

Very basic room and a property that could use a refresh. My room was in the furthest corner so the wifi didn't work well

very noisy next door as the walls are very thin. family was making lots of unnecessary noise!!! Hotel prices in Monterey used be at about $100.00. after covid, now over $300.00? Wow!!
