Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe breakfast area is terrible. Styrofoam cups and pop tarts. We also saw zero staff after we checked in other than at the restaurant. We stayed two nights and there was no housekeeping, trash was overflowing on the property, ashtrays (apparently you can smoke outside there) were not emptied, etc. This wasn't overwhelming, but I noticed for sure.
The location of this beautiful property was great. Close to town and very fun to sit on the wrap-around veranda on rocking chairs. The bathrooms were nice and the furnishings were pretty. The room was clean and stocked when we arrived. The person at the front desk for check-in was friendly. The restaurant and bar area was very pleasant and worth having a meal and a drink there. The restaurant staff was friendly and accommodating, the cocktails were very good.

United KingdomGrout around Bath was mouldy, suggest they rip out the baths and replace with a modern walk in shower. Continental breakfast was very poor, waste of time.
Beautiful rooms, bed huge. On site restaurant very quaint.

NetherlandsBreakfast was very, very poor. No staff available in the breakfast area, only five tables available, we had the last one. A couple that showed up after us had to sit outside. Not a broad variety of choices breakfast wise: you had to warm a cheese croissant yourself in the microwave. There wasn't any coffee left and we were lucky enough to have the last two plates. A pile of used glasses and napkins remained on a terrace table for two days. Beautiful spot, unfortunately the owner seems to think the Antbellum style sells itself.
Location and appearance: both 10 out of 10 points! The quietness of the estate and the historic architecture of the building make you feel at ease. It sure is a romantic place, my wife was very pleased and surprised. We also enjoyed the food in de Castle Pub, we highly recommend that!

United KingdomWiFi was the worst, just kept cutting out. Although I asked about it, no one came to work on it. We were on the middle floor and the guys above were super loud and super clumpy around their floor, and got up around 5.30 am to shout and clump around again for an hour before finally leaving. There’s almost zero sound proofing. Whilst it’s not the hotels fault what their guests do, it didn’t make our stay great.
Beautiful house, easy to find, accessible to local town.

United States of AmericaThe breakfast was probably one of the worst - and I say this since I now know that the property is owned by a hotel chain. NO healthy food choices (pop tarts, sugared granola bars, sugared waffles, sugared yogurt). It seems that with an on site restaurant that there could have been a few other choices. However I understand that the site is catering to a small number each morning. On the ground floor was a sign pointing to the ice machine. After wandering around looking for it, I was told by front desk that it was now on the 3rd floor. Shouldn’t be too hard to move the sign😏
Location; ambience; inclusion of home tour; on site restaurant.

United States of AmericaBreakfast is Nonexistent, VERY DISAPPOINTING. In fact, wasn't even open during our stay. Wifi was sporadic and pretty much not of much use. Thankfully I had a personal hotspot available on my phone.
Front desk staff was exceptional and gracious! Room was comfortable, well-appointed and cozy. Pub was fun and full of locals, creating a very energetic atmosphere. Bartenders were great, cocktails and bar food fabulous

United States of AmericaRestaurant to have more food and drink choices. The grounds were pretty, but could be prettier with some TLC.
Even though minimal, breakfast was adequate. Many visitors may have wanted to experience a southern style breakfast during their stay. Would like better coffee.

United States of AmericaWe felt some discomfort when we realized that our rooms were located in a renovated building that formerly housed enslaved people. There was no open acknowledgement of this fact, such as with a plaque or other public statement.
The staff were helpful and kind. The room was immaculate. The beds were the most comfortable our family ever slept in. The grounds of the estate were beautifully maintained. The opportunity to tour the mansion as part of our stay was a bonus.

United States of AmericaThe continental breakfast offered in a tiny storage room consisted of a couple of bagels , hard english muffins in zip lock bags. There were 2 jimmy dean sausage biscuits, individual cereal and pop tarts. Had an old toaster and a 3 legged microwave. There were no bowls, plates or knives available.Had to spread jelly on my bagel with a spoon. Had some juices in the frig but no milk for cereal. Only tables to sit at were outside and it was cold on one of the days. We had trouble walking up two flights of steps with our "breakfast and coffee" in hand to our room which had no table to eat at. The room was nice but extremely dark. No bright lamps. Simple changes could make a hugh difference.
We loved the restaurant on the premises. Super friendly wait staff. Unfortunately, it was only open for lunch and dinner. The grounds of the inn were beautiful and parking was convenient. We enjoyed sitting in the rockers on the porch of the inn and enjoying the view. The bed was comfortable and the toiletries and towels high end.

United States of AmericaBreakfast was like a convenience store. Everything was prepackaged. Everything. No House tours except on weekends. No decor in 3rd story bedroom: no drapes (but brackets still on the wall) and poorly arranged furniture. Table lamp did not work.
Architecture and grounds. Pub was excellent. Staff at Pub was very efficient and friendly. It was quiet. Bathroom and room were immaculately clean. Excellent shower.
