The "patio view" room is really a room looking out onto the parking lot, but there's a concrete strip between the cars & the window that has 2 chairs & a table on it, so I guess they're calling that a patio. LOL.

there was a coffee maker in the room. We weren't led to expect any food, that was clearly stated at the time of booking. This place is in the middle of nowhere (that's a good thing).

Bed comfy, little firm for me.

The location is stunning! Just off the freeway on the edge of town, surrounded by forest & majestic mountains. All you hear is the breeze in the trees & the river, see ALL the stars. Staff friendly & helpful. Meadow for walking.

the ice machine has not worked the last two times i've stayed there. generally there is nobody in the office even during the day. if you need anything you have to call the general number and ask for whatever you need and often times you have to leave a message...they usually do get back to you fairly quickly though. looks like lots of deferred maintenance around the building.

Good location and i tend to like older vintage hotels when i'm in the mountains. very quiet and a great view of the surrounding mountains. easy freeway access and very close to a pretty good 24 hour convenience store.

We tried to take a walk down to the meadow and my husband stepped in dog poop. Also observed the manager watering persistently around the picnic table where a family was sitting. It seemed almost as if he wanted them to leave. Which they did eventually

The price was a little bit high, but I can't complain, and prices were typical of the area for high season. We got a good night's sleep. When using the shower, you must turn the water to hot and wait about a minute. Seems the water heater is at the office building and our room was furthest. Once the hot water arrived, the shower was very decent.

Nice, decent place to stop on our way to stay at Mt. Shasta. It seems to be an older motel style accommodation that has been upgraded. Some nice touches include a solid wood bed with a comfortable mattress. This is a pretty little mountain town; the manager recommended the bakery right opposite the Amtrak station for breakfast, which turned out to be the nicest little place. I'd absolutely go back to Dunsmuir. All things considered, I would recommend this hotel for any travelers.

Check in was smooth and we were given good advice to find dinner before checking into room. Traveling early in the week limits eating options in Dunsmuir but had an excellent pizza.

Bait and switch

Booked a room with two Queen beds; when checking in, I was told that option was not available and we had a Queen and a twin bed.

Electrical set up. No accessible plug ins. For renter use everything was extension cord or power bar. No microwave, only one chair to sit on, bathroom cold, heating system very old and noisy.

Easy to find. Person on reception very friendly.

The bed was very loud, Squeeky, Just sitting and moving in it, I felt like the neighbors could hear every time i sat down in it. but comfortable

The hotel is nice and quaint. I wanted to check it out before i brought my dog, next time I will bring her, The staff was very friendly, nice, and helpful. Overall a lovely place. will be back next year.
