It wasn't quite as close to Old Town Albuquerque as we believed, and there was a very busy 4 lane road to cross. It took 10-15 minutes to walk from El Vado to the center of Old Town, which was fine, except for the road.

The pool and outside patio seating area. The live music, entertainment on Friday evening. The store front restaurants alongside the hotel and the tap room. The door and walls of our room were virtually soundproof, so when we were done enjoying the music and went inside, we couldn't hear any noise. The room was small but comfortable. The bed was memory foam and very comfy. The hotel has been upgraded from the original motel but still keeps some of the old charm, with many originalfeatures. Plus many additions. We loved it!

The El Vado is a gem. It is extremely clean, well maintained and fits perfectly with the culture of the location. It is within walking distance of lots of shops and restaurants in old town. So comfortable!

Toilet would flush spontaneously through the night???

The architecture is wonderful. A great vibe. Location across the road from the marvellous Botanic Gardens and a walk to the old town.

The property is lovely. The surrounding area was not what we expected from the description we saw on Google. We expected several restaurants nearby.

This is a very charming historical hotel. The room we stayed in was clean and stocked with water and coffee. The bed was very comfortable.

Only minor thing I would have liked is one of the fireplaces being fired up one of the weekend nights. I feel like if I asked they would've done so but I just never did.

The location was great, and the staff was exceptionally kind, thorough, and helpful throughout our entire stay.

Incredible renovation of this Route 66 motel providing stylish rooms with period furniture, original architecture, updated, and beautiful art with a story. Walking distance to Old Town, great brew pub off lobby, and reimagined modern spaces for public and guests.

Beautiful hotel in great location, disappointing restaurant facilities and WiFi access.

It was very disappointing that the Mexican restaurant associated with the El Vado motel already closed at 6:30 p.m. (!!) and the other two half an hour later (!). Plan to find food elsewhere if you arrive after 7 p.m.. The explanation, to us as potential customers, that there "wasn't enough demand to keep them open later" only added insult to injury. No breakfast was offered, either, so we had to settle for an (admittedly nice) bagel from Kaufman's next door. Annoyingly, there was also no WiFi access from one room, but the receptionist commented "some computers just don't connect sometimes". WiFi access from another room was fine. Not good enough!

This beautiful, historic motel in beautiful Adobe-style architecture features a nice outdoor seating area with pool, three associated restaurants (fusion, Asian and Mexican food) and a bar with a good choice of craft beers. There is a large zoo within walking distance, and the view of the Rio Grande from the nearby bridge should not be missed!

Parking can be a bit of a walk from the room, and no breakfast option.

A really great motel with clean and comfortable rooms, a good bar and outdoor area, and very friendly staff. Good location on route 66 and in walking distance from centre of Albuquerque and from the Paseo Del Bosque walking trail.

There is nothing I didn't like.

El Vado Motel is a retro delight. It is even more charming than the photos show. The pool lights up at night in changing colors, and the courtyard is just gorgeous. The room is lovely, and I was delighted to see that instead of offering wasteful little plastic bottles of such things as shampoo, they have dispensers; the coffee mugs are ceramic and the water glasses actual glass, so no wasted styrofoam or plastic there either. There was an extra blanket and extra towels. Unfortunately, we arrived late at night and couldn't spend time lounging at the pool or in the courtyard, so I will have to come back for two or three days. Since the motel is in the older part of Albuquerque, I would love to have walked around the old square. An excellent Mexican restaurant is nearby. Love this little retro motel with all the modern conveniences.

The room was super dark and not enough lights. If you opened the curtain for light then everyone could see in your room. The receptionist at the front desk (“Honey” tattooed on her chest) was not friendly.

The location was great with a cute vibe. Loved the pool/sitting area. The mattress is memory foam and comfortable.
