Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Microwaves were in the laundry section instead of rooms

The rooms are very janky and felt really sketch that there wasn’t that second little lock latch. Sketchy people stay here wouldn’t recommend if you have kids .
I loved the staff! They were so helpful and always a smile on their faces. They are the sole reason I give a five.

Vending (laundry,sodas, snacks) only accepted credit cards, not cash. Laundry mat not close. Very time consuming and inconvenient. Closest public transportation 1/4 a mile away. Took all day. Very bad for people on a budget. No more EZ 8 for me.

It would have been more convenient if I had my personal vehicle.
I liked the location which is basically central San Diego and close to many stores, restaurants and entertainment venues or attractions.

Restaurants, public, transportation, various shopping stores.
Location is great, Near all the public buses, trolly cars, coaster trains, and Amtrak train within in walking distance and lots of taxis cabs

The shower had no hot water. Luckily we had two rooms and one had hot water.
Desk staff was professional and friendly. Rooms were okay.

Hotel is under a freeway over pass so it’s kinda weird. But u really can’t hear anything when ur in your room. Only when the train passes honking its horn. There are a lot of homeless people around and some even stay in the property. No one bothered us when we stayed there. I wished we had a microwave in the room so u didn’t have to go in the vending room. Which was ok but at night there was some guys playing dice on the table. And security was outside and never told them anything. The bed was horrible very uncomfortable and pillows sucked. The blanket they offer was very thin. But we took our own. It was cold outside but the room was warm. Didn’t even have to use the ac or heater our whole visit.
If you’re on a budget and have limited money it’s a good place to stay. Only 5 min away from old town. Literally walking distance to the train and old town. Which is a great place to visit. Very pet friendly. The main reason we stayed here. They didn’t have a pet fee. And you don’t have to pay for parking. Room was clean. Basic essentials clean bed clean towels.There’s a mini fridge and a tv. The girls at the front desk were very nice and helpful. Security at night.

2 guests 2 chairs please. 4 pillows for the bed also. I asked for towels for the second day none arrived nor were available this was really bad! More counter space needed, a shelf near the sink would be helpful extra towel bars too, more hooks for hanging garments etc., more hangers, a waste basket with a liner bag. Even though the price was low basic expectations should still be met.
Good heating and cooling system for the room, the shower drained well, no bad smells in the room or from heat/AC system, it was quiet, good location to area attractions,

Homeless everywhere and other questionable humans. A little loud from other guests in garden view area. Better paying a bit more and choosing a deluxe room especially if you prefer non smoking. Also wish each room had its own microwave. Trolley a bit loud when trying to sleep.
Staff is great easy to deal with. House cleaners are helpful and nice. Great price compared to other hotels in san diego. They do have pool which is a great refresher. Washer and dryer a bonus with vending machines if you choose to use.

Linens were stained, but clean. Grout in bathroom was stained but bathroom was clean.
Good place to stage yourself for an early flight from San Diego Airport if you don't mind a rough, but cheap Motel.

I didn’t like that the microwave was not in the room. It was downstairs in the laundry room to be shared the entire Motel, which I’m sure they do not clean it enough for that.
The only problem I had was at check out one of the staff was super rude. Kept coming to the door telling me and my kids we needed to pay or get out she had a really nasty attitude and it made her look really bad so I told her if I am late checking out I’ll pay the late fee but I’ll just get out cause I was going to rent an additional night but I was waiting on the money to come to me via a wire transfer. She was so rude I ended up checking out and paying Motel 6 for the night.
