Shower was a little cool - took some time to heat up but really not that much of an issue!

It was fantastic. Great location, amazing decorated and great spaced rooms. Loved the suites being in another block. Great staff and beautiful bar and courtyard. HUGE and comfy bed! Loads of space for all your belongings.

Staff puts out complementary coffee and tea in the morning, but not until 7:30am. As an early riser, a bit beforehand might be nice!

Short Stories sits in a great location with access to the old farmer's market and new Grove. There's quick access to West LA, Hollywood, and many of the major area attractions. The rooms have some nice design touches as well.

The room felt super clean and cozy. The room decoration is really cool. The reception staff was nice and friendly. The even got me a toothbrush late at night. Very very nice!

Everything. it was recommended by a friend as we were staying in LA 2 nights. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, as well as professional. I think we had a junior suite, which was charmingly furnished with everything we needed. we enjoyed the security of the valet parking. Also close to shopping area.

The vanity basin and taps were not in the bathroom. They were in the entry way of the room, not ideal, no privacy.

Hotel staff felt a little unwelcoming, however the restaurant staff made up for it. Can be a little noisy from the traffic out the front but this quiets down when you go to sleep anyway.

Excellent location right next to the Farmers Markets, The Grove, Trader Joes, Whole Foods, and CVS. Everything you need within walking distance. The room was spacious, comfortable, and had so many perfect little details.

AC/heating of the room is old, it didn't work properly. Since the hotel is close to a big avenue, we can hear some noise.

Great location, lots of restaurants and stores around, The Grove walking distance, room was comfortable, stylish and clean. Good restaurant for dinner and drinks, valet is quite expensive but useful.

A few minor things make the hotel nearly perfect instead of perfect: - the rooms have low ceilings (nothing the hotel can do about the existing building) - there was some sort of machine whirring noise in our room (maybe we were close to a big HVAC unit). Coupled with the street noise from Fairfax, our room want the quietest even though most of it was like white noise - low water pressure in the building and hardly any sink/counter storage space for toiletries But these are small drawbacks. This place is great!

A nearly perfect little boutique hotel in one of the locations possible. Walk across the street to the Farmers’ Market; eat or shop on Fairfax or on Melrose; h relax in the charming courtyard. The bar/restaurant isn’t open all day, but the main bartender is friendly and makes a good cocktail. The rooms are well appointed (a good number of genuinely good art/novelty books to peruse) and comfortable, with a number of great design choices.
