Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaNo air conditioning - which is common in San Francisco, but the windows in my assigned room did not open. I had to ask to be moved to a different room because it was stuffy; Internet was horrible. Front desk said it was my computer "since nobody else complained about the issue"; after restarting my laptop twice, I noticed that also on my phone there was no wifi = it was not my computer.
clean room, clean towels

United States of AmericaOnly two things: 1) the refrigerator was very loud and I ended up unplugging it because it just made too much noise. Would recommend quieter models. 2) a screen in the window would be great. It was a bit hot in my room and I didn't want to use the AC unit (they're always too loud), but the window doesn't have a screen and that would've been nice to prevent bugs coming in.
Great! Breakfast was a suprise and very appreciated. The room was well-equipped and the staff very friendly and kind. Would recommend to anyone seeking a good budget hotel!

PhilippinesNot enough space for luggage and the shampoo conditioner and body wash were not refilled.
The Indian staff Gotham (i think i got his name right) was very polite and accommodating, he deserves a 5 stars. The hotel is dated but liveable, thing i can suggest is that they can remove the wooden cabinets to make space for the luggage especially if the visitors are from international flights. The bread coffee and fruits during breakfast are acceptable, but i hope they can add at least boiled eggs.

United States of AmericaHousekeeping kept knocking at my door although it was before the 11 am check-out time and I had the "do not disturb" sign on the door. Why were they surprised I was in a bad mood? TV not hooked up to internet so there was no anything. Strange there was no microwave when the mini-fridge had capacity for frozen meals and restaurant leftovers. There was an iron but no ironing board.
Perfectly clean, reasonable price & great location. Refrigerator was very cold and I could take a very hot shower.

IrelandStayed in the petite room and boy was it PETITE. No view, no air conditioning or fan, so a bit sticky at night. Didn't like the doors between rooms.
Perfect location two blocks from Union Square, the cable cars and the BART. Comfy bed, clean room, good shower, cute retro elevator.

United States of AmericaThe bathroom was a little bit too small, making it really unconformable for a tall person. Moreover, I woke up with a bit of back pain, so I assume the bed was not the most comfortable. I don't have cons on anything else.
Very polite staff, the room and bathroom where clean. There is also free breakfast at the hotel; not the best one, but at least there is. The position is Excellent! It's just around the corner from union square.

FrancePrice was consistent with the pros and cons of the hotel (see above).
Relatively low price for SF, excellent personnel. The room comfort was on the minimalist side: small room, a little dated, without desk, etc. But it was really clean, comfortable, and quiet. This was exactly the quality/price ratio I was searching for (~150€/night). Perfect wifi network. The hotel neighborhood was safe. Breakfast was proposed (pastries, bread, juice & coffee). Many options for more advanced breakfast in the neighborhood, when desired.

United KingdomNo phone functioning in the room. NOT EVERYONE travelling has mobile data on a phone or a local SIM card for very short stays. I chose the hotel based on the (rare)phone on my room, not so, not functioning phones, across the board. Reception did offer mobile phone but this is not the same as 24 hr access for friends ringing in to the guest room
Reception v welcoming , helpful and permitted an earlier check in which is always appreciated. Breakfast abundant, always appreciated.
