To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaThe house was still in the process of being upgraded so it was missing things like window coverings in one of the bathrooms and towel bars. Since it was an old house, some of the doors were hard to close.
Nice upgrades to an old house. Centrally located in the Finger Lakes region. The host was responsive to messages. Good for families with kids.

United States of AmericaThe TV is a little too small by today's standards, but it didn't really matter as no one stays there to watch news or movies. Some us found a couple of paintings and some of the dolls in the living room a bit creepy, though none of us lost sleeps over those details.
My companions and I liked almost everything about this farm house. It looked much better in real life than in the photos. Our favorite parts of the property were the back porch with a gas bbq grill and the very spacious and well equipped kitchen, where we had lots of fun making a dinner party.

United States of AmericaSpacious and newly renovated house with bright and brand new and bright kitchen. Perfect location to Watkins Glen, multiple wineries and Seneca Lake resort for pontoon rental. We enjoyed family dinners at cozy dinning room. Two living rooms: one for playing board games and second one to relax on couch in front of the TV. Bedrooms are big and comfortable. Bathrooms are also brand new with plenty of towels and toiletries. Great for families and small group. Easy communication with the owner.
