Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The toilet is very loud when flushed at night. Like in an airplane vacuum toilet. The elevator had a weird stink inside like a wet dog.
Rooms are clean, and the staff is friendly. The washer and dryer worked well. It is a quiet place. We had a good night sleep.

We accidentally left an unopened bottle of wine in the room fridge. We realized it a few hours after departure and called the hotel. Woman who answered said she asked the room cleaners if they found the bottle of wine, and they said emphatically that nothing was found. I hate being lied to. I know it was our responsibility, but a good staff would have been honest about it. This will keep us from returning.
Room was clean, bed comfortable enough. A basic place to crash overnight

The outdoor pool wasn't very clean, it had all sorts of bugs and plants in it. Maybe it was too early in the season for outdoor swimming though. The place definitely showed it's age, with some rust around the doorframes, holes in the bug screens and towels that looked ready to become rags.
It was what I expected for what we paid. We liked the free breakfast and waffle maker, the complimentary coffee and hot water all day, and it was quiet, even with the motel being fully booked. Most of the staff were great. Inside areas were kept very clean.

..booked because of offer for 8 $ the night on booking .com… when checking in the clark was hesitant and took a while as he was wondering about the cheap price (that was confirmed by booking .com) The next morning - after “consuming” the stay we were asked to pay more as there was amistake and/or a glitch in the system… I was not contacted by anyone, neither phne nor mail and asked them to clarify with booking. com. Mistakes can happen, but it was not my fault - and to ask for more after the fact was simply not acceptable.

My bed was extremely uncomfortable. The mattress was awful and needs to be replaced and the frame is almost broken and so creaky.
It was extremely close to everything in town for my stay. The parking was convenient and I liked that it has an elevator

We had a room that adjoined to another. The room next room from our room was super loud. We could hear their entire conversations from inside our room.
It was clean. Looks fairly new. Allows pets for a minimal fee.

Bed was not as comfortable as it looked
Very quiet location even with it being off the main road pool looked nice but was to cold to swim facility had washer and dryer located with vending machines which is cool for people needing to wash clothes for long trips.

Well…. The bathroom door didn’t lock and latch was stuck so it wouldn’t really close, the sink did not drain well and water sat in sink for a long time and unfortunately when I unplugged the blow dryer to connect my curling iron, a cockroach came out of the plugs grounding outlet (recorded). Even though I’m not skittish about bugs it still made me uncomfortable leaving our toothbrushes exposed.
Location is great. Checked in/out with ease, temperature was perfect, the bed was comfy even though it was squeaky and the breakfast was good.

The bed was not very comfortable and the bed spread looked like an old curtain. There was no warm covers on the bed and it got very cold in the room.
