Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Location is great! Size of the appartment was ok for 8 people. No issue with the hot water on the 26th floor. Awesome view from the kitchen to Brooklin bridge

Needed more lighting in our room The wet floor in bathroom didn’t drain fast enough so the floor got very wet when showering. Our room looked into an office block next door so no view. Minor stuff

Having to ask to clean the room. Taking away the rubbish ( litter ) should be a DAILY standard procedure.
Very spacios studios. Free Laundry. Quiete place / no noise. Good communicated with Manhattan. I asked for a room on the lowest floor and that has been followed up. Nice big lounge, although I didn´t make use of it.

Not enough lighting in the apartment. A little dark. Heating a bit noisy.
Close to subway stations with good access around the city. Close to convenient stores. The room had plenty of storage and was great for our stay.

Fantastic hotel for a group holiday. The communal kitchens were fantastic for group meals and preparing snacks. The terrace had great views over the river and the laundry rooms was great for kids and keeping on top of washing.

It was a very nice, clean, friendly hotel with access to the gym which we used. Rooms were perfect, facilities and the view too. Straight on to Wall St which was accessible to all areas in Lower Manhattan. Thank you.

Good location near Wall St subway station and Pier 11. Great local pubs and restaurants nearby and mini market in walking distance. Very good room amenities. Great value for NYC.

Amazing week-long stay at the Placemakr Wall Street, 10/10 experience! Great staff – professional and friendly at the reception, helpful and kind on our floor. Special thanks to Aleena for helping us with the package. Accommodation far exceeded our expectations: our apartment was clean, spacious, comfortable (this bed in the sleeping nook was just perfect!) and well equipped, we did not miss a single thing as everything was well thought out. Gym and great kitchen available to all guests are a superb option and add to this overall positive “fell like at home” vibe, which we really appreciated. Indeed, we felt like guests, not customers - huge thanks for that! Re location: all you may need is at hand, great coffee in the entrance hall, catering and grocery shopping options in close vicinity. Placemakr, you are head and shoulders above the rest with your exceptional service. We do hope to come back!

Mirrors in all the bedrooms as three women were sharing one bathroom. Also, bedside tables and lamps and some pans to use on the cooker.
Brilliant location, really friendly staff. Incredibly clean and super cool decor. Loved the terrace and gym. The beds were very comfortable.

In such a hotel , there should be sleepers in the room. The air condition was noisy.

Unfortunately the bed had a very unpleasant smell, the pull down bed and sofa were also a bit dirty. This stay was not cheap, the location probably being part of the reason why, so we expected for the facilities to be very clean.
We spent one night at Placemakr and were pleasantly surprised as the apartments are very functional, the free laundry facilities were awesome, the terrace was very nice and the staff were overall very friendly and helpful. Location wise this place is in a beautiful spot, a very nice area of New York.

Bathroom with no window /fan. Sofa bed was too soft (but maybe it's just me :) )

There's all the time certain amount of noise from the street, the isolation was not the best so personally I don't think it's a place for light sleepers. Also, the AC/warming is quite noisy.
Amazing value for money. Cool vibe, nice setting and facilities, places to hang out in the hotel itself. Sits in a good location. Our room had a partial view to the riverside, was clean and comfortable, big enough for NY hotel room, very pratical. Murphy bed was not an issue for us. It was well equipped for those looking to make themselves some basic food and coffee.
