The main entrance outside was a bit distressed and needs updating and the big dumpster in front was an eyesore. There should be more oceanfront rooms with balconies available! Being that it is an oceanfront Hotel!

Breakfast was delicious every morning! The wait staff were very nice!

No patio !!! My favorite thing to do is sit on patio and watch the sunset on the ocean. I didn't think to ask about that. The people or herd of elephants above us were loud thumping day and night. So inconsiderate!

The smell of the bed linen was a little sour and the TV was not functioning properly. It needed to be reset, the guide was not coming up

The beach view was married by the roofing overhang that I want sure if someone might walk by there. Two of the lightbulbs weren't working and my first visit to the pool there was scum clearly visible on the water surface. The location of the hotel was not within walking distance to any activities or shopping.

The room was spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and courteous. They were able to handle inquiries promptly and clearly identify a solution. I enjoyed the poolside relaxation.

Supposed to be a handicapped room. It had a couple of grab bars but toilet was not a handicapped toilet. It was too low for a disabled person. Only had one chair in the room. I had to ask for something to sit on to watch TV and was brought a meeting room chair.

Not the best place for us older folks. When I checked in, and told the person at the front desk I would like help with my luggage, she didn't know what to do. A young male staff member happened to be nearby. She asked him to help me, which he politely did, but I thought clearly wasn't used to it because I had to coach him a bit, and he was totally amazed when I tipped him. The Saturday was, as one would expect, very busy, and they could have used a second person at the front desk. One had to go through the front desk for almost everything, for example, room service, and this caused delays.

This hotel had the cleanliness and the nice bedding I have come to expect from a Marriott property. Staff were polite and friendly. My primary reason for traveling to Galveston was for business, a speaking engagement. I took an extra day or two off in hopes of doing some birding, and I liked to this location on the west end of the island for that purpose.

I was expecting to be jn an ocean view room as was confirmed by Marriot during my booking. I even received an email stating that they have a room for me. Unfortunately it was not available when i get there.

If check out is at noon, the cleaning associates should not knock on the door before noon to clean the room. There should be a system in place for them to know if the room is available to clean. Feels like you’re being rushed out when they come early as mentioned above.

The location of the hotel is away from the busy part of Seawall Blvd but just right for a peaceful and quiet get away. Loved the fact the hotel is renovated with an up to date modern feel for a comfortable relaxing experience.
