We had a wonderful stay at Phoenix Garden...felt like home and we hope to visit again!

Nothing in particular comes to mind.

We had a lovely stay on the second floor of Jacob's house overlooking his garden. This was great because there were mosquitos on the ground level and we hardly got any bites when we were on the balcony. We probably should have checked in first before going to the grocery store as he had the basics available in the kitchen, pantry and fridge. We felt like we were in our own home, which is how we like to vacation. Jacob even helped us with cutting open the 4 coconuts we had bought. And the laundry machines were an added plus! We also liked that he was eco-conscious!

The neighbors roosters will start making noise at first light, mostly mitigated by shutting the windows early in the morning. Location is remote, great for a relaxing trip, not so great for amenities like restaurants/stores. Cell service is spotty on this side of the island.

Garden was pretty, rainforest sounds to sleep to, house has some basics like chairs and snorkel gear, they recycle and compost, full kitchen w/ dishwasher. Beds were comfy, rooms large enough, everything very clean. Fast WiFi! (200mbps+).

The non-stick pans are worn out. New 14, 12 and 10 inch frying pans are needed. There's no toaster or toaster oven.

What a beautiful house. It exceeded my high expectations. We love the location but it is a long hour plus drive to volcano national Park or akaka falls and half an hour to Foodland so plan ahead. The WiFi is excellent and the kitchen has most everything you could hope for. The coffee maker is a French press. The refrigerator and pantry had a lot of basics which is much appreciated

Sometimes the coqui frogs can be a bit loud at night but that is the tradeoff for being in paradise.

We had a wonderful stay here. Very well equipped and nicely decorated apartment for up to four persons.

Mostly nothing but the noise made by invasive coqui frogs by night can be a little intense (especially on the first night we arrived in the dark, it was a little scary). I personally had no problem with noise while sleeping with it but just wanna call that out. Bring your earplugs!

The house is surrounded by nature. A vine-covered entryway takes you to your garden house. We enjoyed breakfast every morning on the patio where we heard lots of sounds of nature and were greeted by cute lizards. Nice bathroom with everything provided like plenty of towels, cleaning products, and even essence oils. Full kitchen with abundant cooking wares and seasonings to make your own meals. Books and board games are there so you can spend time away from the internet. No reception for our T-Mobile, but wifi works well.

Peace, tranquility, outdoor space and the personal expression of the owner, River, are present in the details throughout the home. All of the finish work and treatments were created and installed by River and are done in tasteful, sustainably sourced and beautifully executed environment. If you’d like an exceptional massage, Sylvie Gendron, in the neighborhood, can send you into transcendent, blissful relaxation. A walk to “the lawn” provides ocean viewing opportunities and on Sunday evening a spontaneous drum circle, ecstatic dance and community gathering of all generations. An incredible experience of community, expression and humanity in a serene, extraordinary setting. Wednesday nights at Uncle’s is another locals hangout with good food, locally talented musicians and a sense of connection greater than our immediate sense. This is a place which isn’t trying to be something it is not. Be your authentic self, engage in the neighborhood with grace, dignity and respect and be rewarded with a deeply experienced lifestyle and respite from the busyness of life. Peace resides here, leave your stress behind and allow the surroundings to quiet your internal noise. We’re already planning our next visit.

That I had a very limited time to spent there ..

This place is as wonderful as other people say. Jungle, animal voices, geckos, comfort and carefully planned interior design. Everything transpires calm, abundance, harmony with nature. The hosts were extremely helpful and shared with me their fresh garden bananas and avocados. I could admire one of them forming a bonsai.

Lots of mosquitos outside, so bring some bug spray

Really nice and cosy apartment. Lovely veranda with view in the jungle. Well equipped apartment and lots of kitchen equipment (e.g. Kitchenaid, Icecreammachine). In reality it looks better than on the photos.

The low bed was not comfortable and should be replaced

Beautiful super clean unit with great lanai, garden and a well-stocked kitchen. Host provided milk, coffee, veggies, oil, butter, condiments, chocolate macadamia nuts, sunscreen, bug spray and more. There are plenty of nice towels, books, interesting lighting. Updated bathroom, sweet dog, contact-less check in process and attentive host.
