Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaWe had a little trouble with the front door lock, but it reset itself after a couple of minutes and we were able to get in
This is a great location. It’s a good sized room and is well decorated. There’s no reception, you get a code to use on the front door and your room door.

United States of AmericaLocation was nice for walking to downtown. Comfortable generous size room. Roku for tv is awesome! Need better instructions for coffee machine, need bigger trash bin for kitchen. It was nice that we could open the windows, but only one window in room had window screen.

United States of AmericaNeighborhood seems quiet in general, but there was a band practicing until 11pm from the home across the street from my window. There are steep stairs to get to the rooms, so disabled access would be an issue.
This victorian home is nicely renovated and offers clean and charming rooms. There is no receptionist or staff to greet you; you enter the home and room by a code that is texted to you. This unusual arrangement may be a carryover from the pandemic.

United States of AmericaWe are an older couple, so the stairs were difficult for my husband, which was not the fault of the property. There is no air conditioning, so make sure you request a fan!
A beautiful Victorian home in a nice location near downtown Grass Valley. Beautifully restored room.

United States of AmericaThe following are things that might bother other people, but didn't bother us. Not a traditional motel or hotel, and a little bit more like an airbnb in that there's no lobby or any onsite staff we saw. Instructions for access were very clear but sent via text. Also, the front door was up some steps and the rooms were up one flight of fairly steep steps. The bathroom was small with a claw foot bathtub and shower.
Excellent stay and good value. We would be happy to stay there again and recommend to others! Really loved how the classic character of the house was maintained but the good-sized room (Gold Center) still had some modern touches, was well lit, and was very clean. Great bed, too! It's more like the bed portion of a bed and breakfast in that it was a room in a house and there's no lobby. The location was great and in a quiet neighborhood. Parking in their lot was easy.

United States of AmericaThe bed was a little too hard for us, and we had to use the space heater, since the central heat system didn't seem to be on. We also could not figure out how to operate the television/ access streaming services.
We were able to walk to stores and Cornish Christmas event. Free parking off the public street. Clear instructions for checking in and clean and quiet room, with nice little kitchenette and cool claw foot tub. The informational notebook with information about the facility and local eateries and attractions was very helpful. We also enjoyed the garden, and the history of the place.

United States of AmericaI'm so glad I stayed here as I loved it more than I thought that I would. The historic inn was charming and had a lot of character. The room was well appointed with a very comfortable bed and linens and all the desired creature comforts. There was good parking and wifi and the self check in was a breeze. The location and parking were great too as was the restaurant, Diego's, right across the street. This is a good value and recommended experience.
