Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe room was quite small, with not a lot of space for our luggage at all. Was 'upgraded' room but not really sure what that meant - they gave us a shared patio space? But the weather was awful so we never used it and they put us right on top of the cocktail bar which played music until 11pm+. Should definitely inform guests that this will happen beforehand. Got a text that the front desk would close at 11 but music was still going on at 11:15 so had no idea what to do. No earplugs provided upon arrival, but after complaining about the music the next day, they gave them to us. It isn't terrible, but I'm pregnant, so free cocktails after to make up for it doesn't help. Guests shouldn't have to go to the bar and ask them when they will close.
The hotel itself has retro European vibes. Decorations are a nice vintage aesthetic. Welcome drinks provided (need an alternative to alcohol though please). Rooms were nice and clean enough. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast provided (a rarity in the USA, so a very welcome touch!) Restaurant is delightful and food is excellent. Bar seemed nice too (I can't drink right now so didn't try it). Parking space provided. The soaps provided smell amazing - likely to order!

United States of AmericaIf you're not a couple the shower door open to the room could be more exposure than you want with your room mate
The hotel was full of historic decor. The indoor common area and rooftop patio were great spaces for hanging out.

United States of AmericaWish they had king-sized beds, but that is to be expected at an inn.
You cannot beat the location if you want to be right in the heart of downtown SLO. This inn is very charming. The bar is great (although we never ate in the restaurant). Bikes are available to cruise around the city, which is a nice bonus.

United States of AmericaThe parking was small and tight, we did not find a space at the time of our check in. The room was also very small, we hardly found room to put our two suitcases.
The location was perfect! Walking distance from town and we happened to be there on a Thursday for the Farmer's Market which made the location even better for that!

United States of AmericaI liked everything. Top rated hotel ... max stars all the way.
This is the best hotel of my trip. Kansas City to Newport Beach, CA then to Northern Calif. Outstanding hotel ... 5 star all the way. Walked in the room and was "blown away" at the amenities, a fire place, awesome shower, sink area was stocked up and beautiful. If your traveling you have to stay here, period.
