Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaWe travel with our dog, so we understand that pet friendly locations will not be 5-star. With that being said, we were a little disappointed in some amenities. 1. About the room: We stayed in a 2-Queen room with mountain view. Upon arrival, we noticed the carpet was stained, the blanket covers for the beds were stained and had other dog hair coated on it. (Yes, it is very hard to get rid of all of the dog hair). The bathroom was dated and the shower had a crack that it appeared to have used caulking to seal it. 2. About amenities: We chose this location because it had an on-site restaurant. So our first night, we were planning to eat at the restaurant. After searching for any employee, we learned it had closed for the month of April. There were no signs, updates on social media, or anything indicating this. 3. About pricing: I originally booked this room through Booking.com as I usually do with most bookings. I called to confirm my booking and to let them know we would be bringing my pet. I originally booked a King Room. When I called, I was told I would need to change my room to a pet friendly one (completely understand), but to move to a Queen Room (or pet friendly room in general), I had to pay $111.90 additional, plus the $75 pet fee. The cheaper option was a double room and the more expensive was a King room. I almost cancelled my reservation, but wanted to give this place a chance. Overall, the almost $500 (in the off season) we paid did not match the amenties offered. The saving grace of this place was location as stated before.
Overall the location was the best feature of this location. It was on the lake with amazing views and was only 10 minutes to Old Forge which had all of the restaurants and shops. As pet-friendly travelers, we appreciate when a location allows us to bring our dog. We noticed there were other pet travelers. The location even had a dog park to let your pets loose which we took advantage of. We enjoyed sitting on the lake and enjoying the views. The location had fire pits to enjoy a fire in front of which we also used. This location is also close to hiking trails such as a Bald Mountain and the Fire Tower. We did not do much hiking this trip as I was still recovering from an ankle injury.

United States of AmericaThe very small shower had hair on the wall from the last guest. The room was very cold when I first got there, this was fixed quickly by staff with a portable heater. With all the electronics we use now only 3 open outlets with 2 not fully working(TV plugged in to one and the other half not working, the coffee maker and mini fridge plugged into the one behind the desk and one by the bed was spoty as the plug in it had to be adjusted to get power) and I had to use the one in the bathroom as that was the closest to the desk available.
The staff was very responsive and friendly while solving the 2 issues I had when there that I reported to them. The food at the Lean-To was excellent and the bartender personable, I would bet the she is the reason they are so popular as she is quick with the service yet makes time for everyone to feel welcomed.

United States of AmericaRooms (carpet and bathroom) could be cleaner. Could use new pillows. Sink in our room #24was terrible it was installed backwards and sprays everywhere. The installed toiletry dispensers in the shower were very clearly filled with water. You may as well just get rid of them . The TV was very difficult to navigate (numerous other guests were looking for help with theirs as well ). Getting into the room was a bit of hassle; if the room is already clean and ready the code should work. Was not aware of the little breakfast inside the lobby. Just happened to stumble upon it when there was really nothing left. Food was not great at the lean-to this visit. They were out of numerous items; fish was greasy, jukebox screen broken. There did not seem to be a staff member available on site for the hotel. Myself and other guests had to contact the restaurant where we then had to wait for somebody to arrive to help with our needs.
Comfy bed. Clean linens, beautiful lobby they should do more to promote hanging out there and let people know about the little breakfast set up.

Beautiful property and room itself was very comfortable EXCEPT the VERY hot water/shower cuts on and off AND the temperature control for the rooms is out In hallway and our room was waaay too hot. We had the windows open and thankfully there was a small portable fan. It was down in the 30’s and 40’s at night.

United States of AmericaWould love easier hot water. Even after we ran the hot water it only warmed to luke warm. Would like an easier setup to use my computer in the bedroom. Had to work off the bed.
Would love for the breakfast to be available in the dining room where there were tables to sit and eat. Would love that there could have been some hot breakfast choices like hot oatmeal, eggs, french toast. The scenery is phenomenal. Everything is clean and neat. Love that we could bring our little dog.

United States of AmericaHoped for a Sandy beach….but instead you can walk down to dock and there’s a mini access there. Add a extra table and chair in double rooms.
Great Pines was located between Old Forge and Inlet, both cute towns. Lake Views from the property were lovely. Bring a few fold up chairs if you go, there’s a nice platform to sit on and see the water.

United States of AmericaOur cabin was a Mountain View, which meant we didn’t get ADK chairs to sit in either. Which we didn’t realize because there are SO many ADK chairs pictured. We tried several times to go to other locations to obtain a chair to sit and see the views (to drink our Coffee, etc.,) and it was like there was a shortage of chairs; or they were reserved for those with Lake view access. Such a bummer. We also didn’t have basic necessities like hand soap in our cabin when we arrived - they told us we could pick it up ourselves at the lodge but when we went it was all gone, we had to wait until the next morning and then found someone to ask.
The Lodge is placed at a beautiful location, great view of the Lake. Private, quiet, off the beaten path.

United States of AmericaThe room I got is no privacy. It is in front of the parking lot and people can directly see what I am doing in the room. Also, I feel disappointed because the description on the booking page mentioned it included a lake view, but the room I got can’t see the lake view from the window.
