Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe lockers were under the beds, and blocked the door to the room if opened-- not only inconvenient, felt like a hazard--basically really easy way to block the door to the room, even by accident Wished we could swap out or add blankets to our beds
Location couldn't be better--right across the street from Pike Place market, very easy to access public transit such as train and buses Facilities were kept clean, usually good availability of bathrooms Felt safe/secure in the dorms

GermanyThis hostel definitely needs maintenance. I stayed 5 nights, and in this time, none of the not working light bulbs, broken sinks, or clogged toilets were replaced/repaired. Bathrooms and dorms were pretty dirty. I found a razor blade on my bed, and gosh, you dont wanna look in the gap between bed and wall! The kitchen was always occupied by staff. Pretty annoying since it's a small kitchen without counter space. The dorm was small, and with 8 people in there, it got incredibly hot and stuffy in there.
The hostel is right next to Pike Place Market, so it is easy to get around by foot. They offer free activities like free beers, ice cream, or dinner. Front desk staff was super friendly and helpful.

BrazilIt would be great if they had more toilets, separate from the bathrooms, for quick use. As most of the bathrooms have both toilets and showers, at rush hours, it can be challenging to find a place for a quick pee haha
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed was comfy and had curtains to enhance privacy. The luggage storage was very large and had plenty of room even for a big suitcase. Breakfast was great! I had a great time!

United States of AmericaWell, it IS a shared space; but I felt like I couldn't turn the lights on at night, or in the early morning, when people were still obviously sleeping. I wonder if there was an ambient light option in the room.? So as to not be left blind, in the dark.
I liked the price, that it was co-ed, (made me feel human), the walking tour guide was so nice!! (hats off to you, Amalia!), the entire vibe was great. The part that was most comfortable for me: that they had an option to make yourself some eggs! That's what I eat for breakfast EVERY morning. SPOT ON

United KingdomTen people crammed into a very small room (4x double bunks + 2 x singles). Very noisy on Saturday night but hey, that's backpackers!
Good location adjacent to Pike Place market and short walk to the waterfront.Ample coffee and breakfast provided free. Common room with tables . Supermarket almost next door. Noisy airconditioning was a bonus bcs it drowned out the traffic noise so we slept quite well.

CanadaTwo of the bathrooms had nonworking fixtures; a sink in one, a shower in the other. The shared room was very hot.
Staff were very helpful when I arrived late in the day, and when I left very early in the morning. The location was great for both the concert venue and Pike Place market

GermanyThe bathrooms are at times dirty. And not enough shelves or hooks. No shelves near the beds so your phone or whatever has to lay on the mattress with you. There are outlets though. There are unfortunately a lot of homeless people in the area, however this is no fault of the hostel. Just worth knowing. Besides that the area is perfect for exploring the city.
The staff was incredibly nice and when you arrive they don't just tell you your room number, they actually take you to the room and make sure everything is in order. The available breakfast is also pretty good for a hostel. The beds have curtains which is by no means a standard here in the US it seems. During my first night at like 1am there was a fire alarm and actually a fire but not inside. Trash was burning in am alley and the smoke came in. The staff also handled that well. Transport close by and close to many major attractions like Pike Place markets.

GermanyWritten communication before the stay could be better. I asked if booking a double bed means a private room and didn`t get an answer. Maybe I overlooked something.
The location is definitvely quite perfect, close to virtually everything and within easy walking distance of Seattle subway / light rail. Staff is quite cool and the free tours of Seattle bascially start at the hostel, I did three of them including pub crawl and all of them were extremely cool. Of course it`s also an asset that double beds can be booked even in dorms and there`s a curtain around the beds. Breakfast is uncomplicated and I never had to wait for the bathroom (there are more than just one on each floor).
