Very important that one understands there’s no elevator. There’s a dumb waiter on the first floor that will take your suitcase to the third floor. The fourth floor is quite a slog so if you have any knee or hip issues, do not stay any further than the first floor.

Absolutely gorgeous! This has been designed with so much care and thought for everything that you will need. The decor is absolutely stunning.

    Nothing.

The staff was an “invisible concierge” but very attentive. I loved the aesthetics of the room and building. The history of the Guild House was an added bonus.

Amazing hotel in a fantastic location.

When we arrived, there was a used napkin with a lipstick print on top of the dresser and the minifridge desperately needed to be defrosted. We could still use some of the fridge, but not the freezer since a huge chunk of frost/ice covered most of it. We had no other issues during our stay.

The hotel has a rich history, which they poured into the decor and amenities. It's centrally located in a wonderful neighborhood with many great restaurants nearby. We could walk to most of the places we wanted to visit. The staff, especially the manager, were wonderful and very accommodating. It was very convenient not to have to check in at a front desk, and just be able to go straight to our room. We had no issues with using the codes.

My room was painted a moody dark shade, although it was otherwise furnished with good-looking items. The lighting over the kitchenette area didn't shine down onto the counter, so I found it hard to discern the instructions on operating the coffee maker.

I'm usually not a fan of "Contactless" hotels. But I have to say, the owners of this hotel do it right. They were in touch with me daily from a few days before my stay until the last moment of my stay. They were responsive and very kind. The building has a fascinating history and has many original features intact, giving it a great authentic feel. The location, 5 blocks south of Rittenhouse Square, was ideal. Once I parked the car, I met up with my friends, and we walked everywhere. My room was spacious, and the bathroom was big and beautifully tiled with high-quality faucets and a shower. The towels were fluffy, soft, and absorbent. The amenities, soaps, and lotions, were also high-quality The bed and pillows were very comfortable.

No elevator so you have to be comfortable with stairs. No in-person staff so you have to text the hotel (not convenient if you're an international guest or don't really communicate that way). Shower water pressure was dismal. Room wasn't very clean as it felt like it hadn't been vacuumed in months particularly by the night stands. We requested housekeeping one day and the hotel staff confirmed but no one came to tidy up the room. Felt a bit like staying at an Airbnb in that sense as I had to throw out my own trash (very annoying).

Great location, hotel is drop dead gorgeous, room was beautiful and comfortable, great hotel amenities including sparkling water on tap, free snacks and drinks. free coffee was delicious. Didn't see other hotel guests around so our stay was very quiet. Bathroom was very nice with plenty of towels and nice smelling toiletries. Overall experience felt very chic and cool.

The Guild House is stunning. Beautiful decor, incredibly comfortable bed, plenty of lovely sitting room furniture, with a bathroom that has the best shower I’ve ever taken in my life. The communication with staff was easy and quick and the invisible concierge was great. The additional in-room amenities were a bonus; delicious coffee, and the giant cookie and protein bar were delicious. The sparkling and still water in the lounge were also excellent rather than needed to buy single use bottles and the bathroom products were fabulous.

This is one of the most beautiful and comfortable hotels I've ever stayed in. I loved the sitting room on the first floor and I loved the amenities in my room: a delicious pound cake, a massive chocolate chip cookie (both locally baked), and the various teas on offer. An added bonus was the choice of coffee maker. I love French presses, and this was the first time I had a French press in my room! In addition, the hotel provides complimentary mineral and filtered water. As for the aesthetics of my room, the decor was just lovely. The bathroom in particular was stunning with its turn-of-the -century tiles. Finally, the history of this building made it all the more special to stay here. So glad the proprietors have retained the old-world charm of this lovely dwelling. I have been bragging about this place to friends and colleagues since I checked in and will continue to do so.

A powder room on the ground floor would be a great addition since there is a common lounge/work area.

Location was very convenient - many options around. Approximately 10 minute walk to Reading Terminal for even more food options. Right next to public parking lot, which was very convenient since we arrived by car.

More a caution than a dislike: this is an old building with no elevator, and the dumbwaiter doesn’t go all the way up to the top floor. That’s part of its charm… but also I was still recovering from knee surgery and lugging suitcases up was a challenge. I think including that info more front and center before people book would be helpful.

The property is well taken care of, has good service and amenities, and is a truly special place.

The noise in and around the hotel can be a bit much but they do provide the noise machine and ear plugs which helped.

The hotel was beautifully decorated and extremely clean. The bed was super comfortable. The wine tasting on Saturday afternoon was as nice touch since you don't see any staff for most of your stay.
