Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

This is the first time I stayed at the Hampton Pearl District and I liked the convenience of being in town and all the walkable sites. I had asked for a quiet room and one in a higher floor which they accommodated. I will be back !

United States of AmericaThe bed in our room felt worn out and springy. There’s too much chlorine in the pool.
My kids enjoyed the pool and the room was fairly nice. The staff was a 10/10. I’ve not had better service at a Portland hotel. We also prefer to stay in the Pearl district. It’s close to the bookstore and less busy than other parts of downtown.

United States of AmericaParking in the area was difficult and we felt we had no choice but to pay for valet parking ($50+). Even though it is one of the closest hotels to the Amtrak Station it is a bit of a hoof so you might want to take a taxi or ride-share if you aren't traveling super light.
The hotel is in a fun part of Portland. We enjoyed walking around. The hotel decor fits the sort of retro industrial vibe of the area. The room was very comfortable and a good size. This is the closest hotel to the Portland Union Amtrak Station.

CanadaGreat staff and very nice breakfast which is included. Nice clean rooms
Very clean and modern. Large bathroom for a basic room which I appreciate. The breakfast in the morning is awesome. I used the gym which is well appointed. It’s a good location but I like to walk when I’m in a new city and you don’t have to go far away from the hotel before it feels a little iffy. Lots of homelessness which is sad. As a single woman I didn’t feel too comfortable out at night. To end on a good note the staff and facilities are excellent

United KingdomNothing!
A lovely hotel, in the heart of the Pearl District and within a short walk of Union Station or the tram line to get to/from the airport. Clean and modern, with a great swimming pool, especially for kids, and a terrific roof top terrace to chill out on at the end of the day. Breakfast was good and there was coffee available 24/7 in the reception area. A big shout out to Jake at the reception desk who was so helpful, giving us great tips for where to go (and not to go!) in Portland and the surrounding area - a real credit to the hotel.

NetherlandsThe warm breakfast was really nice and healthy. One staff member even walked around before the breakfast closing time to offer the guests some sweets for dessert. The room was really comfortable and cozy, good for a stay after a rainy day in Portland. The central location was pleasant, and the reception on Tuesday afternoon was really helpful. He knew the best place to buy souvenirs, and he handed me the dining guide with the recommended food trucks!
