We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Pancake machine broke down, didn't make up the beds between days and clean the room any at all between days. Had to ask for more towels and didn't put bags in trash cans

By all accounts this is a pretty standard Holiday Inn. The facilities were nice enough. There was a pool that was being readily enjoyed by many guests. But the big thing - and it really is a big thing - is that when we realized that we had left our favorite stuffy at the hotel, the whole staff mobilized to make sure that he got home to us safely. He even got to help work the front desk checking in customers for the few extra days that he stayed in Horse Cave. We're thrilled to be reunited and can't say enough good things about the staff at Holiday Inn Express Horse Cave who helped to make sure that Moo could travel safely through the mail so our bedtimes feel safe again.

Only complaint would be the elevator and hallway were musty smelling.
The staff was very kind and helpful. Room and main lobby were clean! The beds were so comfortable and the pillows were AMAZING. Lots of options with the included breakfast. We loved watching the pancake machine.

Bathroom door and door to hallway hit each other if opened at the same time. No place to put bath towel so it would be reachable from shower.
Staff stepped up to help out when breakfast crew couldn't get in because of a winter storm.

The first room we had been put in the bath faucet wouldn't stop dripping at 230 in the morning the fridge had leaked a huge puddle the fridge was closed Above the bed looked like there was water damage that had been plastered It would have better if it was above the bed

The toilet had not been cleaned at the bottom at floor level. The bathroom floor was dirty. The seemed to be low or out of towels and body wash. Did offer alternative items tho. Found it odd to have a shortage of core items.
Great location. Good variety of Breakfast food to choose from.

No good options for dinner. There isn’t much for restaurants in the area. We ate at a decently rated restaurant and weren’t entirely satisfied. Bring a cooler or plan to drive a ways.
This hotel was close to attractions such as Mammoth Cave State Park.

The pool and hot tub were very nice and heated! Staff were helpful and customer service was great! Bed could have been more comfortable! Room was clean! Breakfast was free and decent! It was easy to find and to get to. We had to drive to all attractions and caves--we did 6 caves in the area and Mammoth National Park! Nearby restaurants were easy to find and staff gave us some really good recommendations, but a little bit of a distance away from hotel. If I had to plan this again I would stay in the next town over right off of the interstate ! Eat at the Watermill or Two Broke Girls and the Mexican place! Yum!

Send the custodian/cleaning staff to knock on the door, rather than use the key to unlock and come right in. However, this is an easy mistake to make. Easy to forgive. Also, the staff was friendly, apologetic, and professional in manner.
We brought our three young children. Wiggle while you work. All in all, it was a great stay. The custodial staff and people working the front desk were so helpful.

Our bathtub upon arrival was not very clean. I cleaned it myself.

It was freezing in the halls, but if you aren't swimming it's not too bad

The water pressure for the shower is VERY LOW.
Breakfast is excellent! The room is comfy and clean. Customer Service is helpful and friendly. The location is close to many attractions.
