Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

I can’t think of a thing— literally our entire experience was better than we expected.
Location was perfect— just a few minutes walk to the waterfront, shops and restaurants. Very clean. Amazingly quiet, given that the inn was full. Bed was so comfortable. Antique furnishings were beautiful. We loved that the owners had some items connected to the home’s past. A very nice Sherry out for guests to enjoy. Also a keurig for guests to enjoy coffee at any time. The icing on the cake was the gourmet breakfast made to order. Homemade everything, from the bread to the blueberry compote. We will definitely be back!

We loved everything!
Hanna House is a lovely historic home in the perfect location to walk almost anywhere in downtown New Bern. Camille and Joe are wonderful hosts. The rooms are impeccably clean, spacious and very comfortable. The breakfasts are phenomenal, with an incredible menu of at least 10 or 12 made to order options. We will definitely plan to stay here again when we visit New Bern.

This is a very nicely restored and maintained Victorian style home furnished with beautiful period furniture and antiques. There is off street parking and plug in for EVs. It is on a quiet street conveniently located near the downtown.

I didn’t find the bed or pillows as comfortable. Little too hard.
Beautiful property with lovely antiques, especially the Asian room with its beautiful wallpaper and the most comfortable velvet chairs I could have sat in all day. That’s where they also served cake and brandy to enjoy at your leisure. Breakfast had a lot of options to choose from like the frittata and stuffed French toast which was delicious.

There was nothing we did not like. Highly recommendable.
Everything! Hosts were outstanding. Venue, location, beautifuly decorated. Best breakfast ever. A true treasure . Well worth visiting again and again!

There was nothing that we did not like.
The house was cozy and clean, filled with charm. The host was friendly and welcoming, and offered an amazing breakfast with a large array of choices. We look forward to visiting New Bern again and will definately book at the Hanna House with Camile.

We were warmly welcomed into her beautifully decorated home and shown to our room. It was the perfect location to walk to everything. She addressed everyone by name and accommodated any needs. The breakfast was amazing and our next visit we will try the breakfast pizza.

The breakfast was amazing! So many choices it was hard to choose just one! I had the stuffed French toast and my husband enjoyed Croque Madame. Both were served with a happy smile by Camille. We were able to walk to several shops ,restaurants and the waterfront area . The location was perfect.

Amazing breakfast, adorable and really unique decor. Was probably my favourite place to sleep during a road trip in the South. Staff was also amazing and accommodated for us when there was a very big rainstorm

The Bed&Breakfast was located in central New Bern and we loved the host and the outstanding breakfast. The host was so friendly and gave us recommandations for dinner. We were able to let our car at the building the next day, so we could walk around the town without looking for a parking space for our car. New Bern was a stopover on our way to the Outer Banks and was perfect for one night.
