Hotel was historic, clean, comfortable in a great location. Staff was outstanding, one of the best I've ever experienced. Tavern was cozy and comfortable and again with fantastic staff. You Hit it Out of the Park as far as staffing goes. I don't have even one negative comment for the Hawthorn. Thanks for a great stay.

The restaurant could have been open a few more hours. The food was uniformly good. Years ago I had been to brunch with live music which was nice and memorable.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. The bar and restaurant were excellent. The staff was uniformly kind and helpful. The history and location were both great. It was an excellent 3 days.

The mattress was a little firm, I'm use to a plusher mattress. I also had some issues with the soda vending machine on my floor. I could not get it to work.

I loved my stay at the Hawthorne. I was originally booked for 3 nights and I booked a 4th night in another smaller room in the hotel at the last minute and when getting ready to switch rooms the staff let me stay in the room I had been in which was so helpful and so nice. The entire hotel is so beautiful. I ate at both restaurants and food was delicious and staff was great! Location is perfect and there was plenty of parking during my stay. I was there in late May. I will definitely be back.

Great location for the centre of salem. Very friendly and welcoming staff, who are more than happy to share their knowledge of the local area. The hotel has a grand lobby and the rooms have everything you need and are comfortable and clean. The hotel is aged In places which is understandable due to the history of the building. We didn't have breakfast but it is an option.

The bathroom sink was almost against the toilet and the walls are so thin I could hear everything the people above me were saying.

I love the hotel's location, comfortable bed, and the Tavern restaurant inside was nice. Everything in the hotel was clean.

No microwave in room, had to request minifridge for room. The vending machine was consistently out of diet soda. Other than that, a very good experience.

Very friendly, helpful staff. Excellent communication about how late housekeeping staff is available when Do Not Disturb sign was on door. Excellent room service.

The Hawthorne is an older but modern hotel with a lot of history. The reception displays grandeur. Tavern on site is good but can be very busy. Free parking on site a huge bonus. Free coffee in the lobby. Salem Common across the road for a nice walk. Close to activities.

Everything was amazing apart from the mattress. It was slightly to form for my liking, but that could just be preference. Everything else was perfect.

Everything, a real standout building in Salem. A land mark all of its own. Truly amazing to be able to say we have stayed in this historic building.
