To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Mexico- The hotel was under renovation so there were crews working on premise. There was a blackout late at night. - On the bed theme, it was quite bad, lumpy with 2 very unconfortable pillows. Very bad !!! - Neighboring rooms where noisy with TV turned on all night. - Value for the lowest price hotel in all the listings, not much should have been expected. - Very small towels in the bathroom

United States of AmericaIf money is your top factor, the rate was great. Now that I'm a bit older (50), I'd rather pay a touch more to get something a bit nicer. A more substantial blanket would have been nice. (It was VERY thin.) Sprinklers covered my recently-washed car. Another light would have been nice. Also, an ant crawled across the bed.

United States of AmericaDidn’t feel safe there. Then starting at 7am they were remodeling the room next to ours, like seriously? Wth dude I like to sleep in I’m on vacation not to listen to your tile saw. Plus you woke my 3 year old daughter up and that’s unforgivable. It’s all over after that.

USAThe value isn't there even though the cost is much less than other hotels in the area. 1. The ceiling & wall paint was marked, cracked, & peeling, 2. The carpet was stained by traffic through the door and looked dirty. 3. The furniture looks old, worn out, & and outdated. 1950's? 4. The enamel finish on the sink was worn and rusted.
The people at the front desk are very friendly. They are very helpful.

I liked that the place was clean and that it came with a menu for a nearby restaurant that my family was able to order from. I also liked that the staff was ver easy to communicate with.

Beds were comfortable but the comforter had some burn spots on them. They had an elevator which was convenient for my mom and for me since I have a toddler.

United States of Americafor the water , cold was hot and hot was cold, so it threw me off when i had to figure it out on my own. very little outlets to connect to and some of them weren’t even working . area and people at the inn were sort of sketchy , and some people were even smoking cigarettes/weed around , some people had loud music playing in they’re own rooms.

GermanyThe only bad stuff is that the hotel charged me 3 times wrong amount. (The deposit is NOT the problem) The problem is that on top I receive more charges out of the blue. And noone from the hotel reply to my emails. Is around 100€ of uknown charges they just miss used my credit card with zero rights to do that. I ask the hotel to refund the extra unknown charges immediately (around 100€ of unknown charges, I repeat again the 50€ deposit is ok but on top it was 100€ of unknown charges)
