Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe space is small, but we knew that going in and that is typical for NY hotels.
The space was located near a lot of restaurants and amenities. The staff was attentive and it was a good stay foe the price that was paid.

BelgiumHousekeeping is a disaster. You have to ask for it a day in advance, and then they just do the minimum minimorum. No actual cleaning. We stayed for 8 nights so we really would have liked some mopped floors, clean sinks and shower etc.

United KingdomThe room was a quite shabby and could have done with a refresh. The air conditioning was very noisy so you couldn’t have it on during the night so the room got very warm.
The location was great for getting about with to multiply metro lines and lots of lovely restaurants nearby.

United KingdomIt was a bit run down, a bit of a long walk to things but for the price it was a good location. The bed wasn't very comfortable and the decorations were a bit messy e.g. the paint on the walls was a big of a landlord job and the toilet seat had a massive burn dent on it from where it had melted.
The location is great, the staff are casual and friendly. The room was bog standed but cheap for new york.

United States of AmericaThe room was very small, in many places you could not pass by another person. It was also very noisy, we could hear everything the room next to us was saying. It's NYC so small rooms are to be expected and they did say we unfortunately got the smallest one and did offer to move us the next night but we didn't care that much.
The location is fantastic. Easy to get everywhere walking or by subway. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

AustraliaExtremely high price for what we got. The bath didn’t drain properly and we asked for it to be fixed which it wasn’t. Small hallways usually had garbage bags filled in there.

SwedenHotel room without daylight - due to window facing back yard and window was also very dirty! Wanted to change room but the hotel wanted only to sell us a room with a view. We just wanted to change our room (to the same price). After a while and discussions we got a new room (for the same price) that was somewhat better - you could see a little of the sky. Recommend to ask for a room facing the street.
The location of the hotel was fantastic. In mid town Manhattan, close to 6th Av. Close to subway stations and different buses. Also a grocery store, pharmacy and take away places close by. Very good to have a coffee maker and a refrigerator in the room. There was also a common dining area at the first floor of the hotel where you could heat your food in a microwave oven.

BulgariaBanging doors and paper thin walls. We could hear each word the neighbours said - as if we were in the same room. The bathroom floor and the bath were dirty when we arrived. Our room was on the 9th floor and although there were 2 elevators it took a very long time for one of them to come up.
Great location - you can get to many popular locations on foot. Subway stations are a couple of blocks away too in case you need transportation.

SwedenOverall a pleasant hotel with " New York prices ". I listed a few negative things above but nothing that will keep you from coming back. The Heritage is from 1902 but why update too much and loose the atmosphere from yesterday . If you are into antiques visit the outdoor markets just outside the hotel on weekends.
This is a 120 year old hotel in the Flatiron district. Very easy to access with subway and buses. The pleasant Madison square park is next door and many eating places in the area including Eately, Zucker bagels and many more. No breakfast at the hotel but buy a fresh bagel at the food cart on 6th aveny, buy some yogurt, fruit at Fairways and have the hotel coffee for a budget breakfast. The room was large with a very good bed, bathroom with a tub and plenty of hot water. An uncomfortable low toilet seat from the 60 ies ? Room service is at request and if you need something ask the nice team at reception. TV reception is still analog, maybe going well with the > 100 year old hotel. WiFi works fine but have to be reset each time you leave the room. Don't be in a hurry, elevators are slow. Fire doors slam at night from guests who don't know how to close a door quietly at night. Your magnetic door key will most likely stop working and needing update. Very sensitive next to your mobile, credit cards etc !

United States of AmericaNo window view, just dark wall of the building. We could hear the neighbors door opening and closing, their conversation at times too. Small towels, very few and no washcloths. There were 2 steps to get to the small bathroom.
Location was excellent! Close to the park, restaurants, and shopping areas. Service was good too. We were lucky to get a free parking spot right by the hotel on Saturday night.
